Action Sequence of the Year: 2016

There's only 6 options instead of the usual 8 as there were so many repeat nominaitons this year.

Cool as the airport battle was, I always seem to enjoy the Cap/Bucky/Falcon/Panther chase just that little bit more.

If the "Battle of Scarif - Rogue One" includes the transmission ground battle up to Vader above and the escape of the Tantive IV?

The airport battle was one of the best action scenes I've ever seen on any movie. Exciting from start to finish

From that list, I'd say it's between the Civil War chase and DP highway fight.

And a buttload of more jumpcuts it seems; pretty much "diet John Wick". The other fights in the movie look better edited, but I don't think those would be "action sequence of the year" either.

Battle of Scarif. The Airport fight was a ton of fun, but Scarif was just epic. It reminded me of one of the major battles in the Pacific War in terms of scope and imagery, like Guadalcanal or Leyte Gulf. Biggest and best of the year, and the best action sequence for the franchise since the Battle of Endor.

Nope, and neither does anything from Civil War outside the final fight, which I'd put 3rd on my list. But even so, no need to bait people.

The Battle of Scarif was dripping with intensity. Glad it won (though I'd have been perfectly happy with CW's end battle taking it as well).

I haven't seen a year where the nominations were so narrow, it's usually spread out among more films, hopefully 2017 will offer up more variety.
