Activision Confirms New Call of Duty Game in 2012

That kind of gameplay generally only works with strategy games, which involve the pc and thinking, so it's not really like Call Of Duty. I'd recomend Empire or Napoleon for that. For FPS, it's generally a terrible idea.

I wonder if the people who are genuinely excited about this are afraid to post, so far everyone seems pretty one sided.

It's difficult to get excited about something you literally know nothing about.

That's fair, although the common belief seems to be that each CoD game is just a rehash of the last one -so wouldn't the people who love the series be jumping up and down at the news? Or perhaps the announcement was so predictable it's just become routine now, no need to get excited until the day it goes on sale.

Spock, I was joking :D

Well CoD fans don't believe each version is just another version of the same game. Same with Madden fans. Ask a Madden fan to list u the differences between games and they'll hand you a laundry list of changes that most casual players wouldnt notice. I would know, I used to be a HUGE madden fan, but I could do the same for the NBA 2K series and the Formula One games.

Modern Warfare 3 was using Modern Warfare 2 assets. It was quite literally, rehasing content. I could maybe figure "yea thats ok" if it was a small indie team with very limited resources but it clearly isn't. I believe also some of the map packs being sold for £15 a pop were also just re-skins of prevously released map packs, weren't they? Either way bro, Call Of Duty and everything associated with it, generally amounts to something bad.
