Actor John Frederick says he played the man of steel in 18 unaired episodes of Adventures of Superman as part of a plan to intimidate George Reeves cuz he was complaining a lot about being typecast. The plan apparently didn´t go ahead cuz of Reeves´ death. Supermanhomepage´s investigation suggests there´s no evidence to support that idea, cuz Noel Neill, who played Lois, and Jack Larson, who played Jimmy, not only never worked with him but never even heard ot the guy, which would have been virtually impossible if he shot 18 episodes of the show. Sounds like a lawsuit in the making...

That story is so bizzare. What if Lois was recast? What if Jack Larson was replaced by another actor.

I think the obvious conclusion is that this guy did a screentest or a costume fitting at some stage, and nothing else. Since, "I did an audition for Superman," is no story, "I was the forgotten Superman" is how it's come out. Oddly enough, just as a movie about George Reeves has just been in cinemas.....
