has anyone found that there will be an after-credit scene, i would think there would be to lead into one of the sequels (Thor 2, Iron Man 3, Captain America 2 or even another Hulk movie?)

It's been confirmed countless times by people from Marvel officials to the lucky few who saw an early screening of the film.

And it's been further elaborated on that the after credits scene will lead the audience into Phase II of the MCU.

IM STILL SO AMAZED THAT THE MCU EVEN EXISTS IN THE FIRST PLACE :D

-DOOM:doom:

I'm pretty sure that the after credits scene has something to do with
thanos

Can those who have seen it stop jerkin' us around and just post it already? Good god...

After credits scene:

Nick Fury enters his office in the dark only to be greeted by SOMEONE sitting in his chair.

MYSTERY MAN: Good job, "Director Fury".

FURY: I was only obeying YOUR orders...Sir.

MYSTERY MAN lights a cigar and we see his face finally revealed by the flame. Piercing blue eye stares directly into the camera. It is THE REAL NICK FURY played once again by DAVID HASSELHOFF. A smile begins to form on his face.

Movie ends.

:awesome:

Hell yeah...I'm 80% sure it's gonna be that dude in your avatar.

Hopefully, we'll get more quality CBMs in the aftermath of The Avengers.

I'm actually more excited for Phase II than anything else. From what's been described about the next set of movies - it seems to be quite the feast.

Iron Man 3 has been described as something of an espionage/Tom Clancy-like thriller featuring real-world villains and taking from the Extremis storyline.

Captain America 2 has been described as being something of a political thriller featuring more of SHIELD and focusing on Steve in the modern world.

Thor 2 has been described as seeing Thor take to other worlds and exploring the relationship between Thor and Jane as well as Thor and his father.

And then there's The Avengers 2, which Whedon wants to be more personal and more painful.

That's the thing that makes me question if Thanos is really involved, or if Bosef was talking about someone else. If the sequel is more personal and painful, how does a being like Thanos figure into that?

Or perhaps if it is Thanos, he's in Thor 2, not Avengers 2? Who knows, can't wait to find out! :D

Could he make his appearance in Avengers 2, but not get directly involved until Avengers 3?

No I want Ultron for Avengers 3 what with the Ant Movie that's hopefully coming out.

The funny thing is that no-one's actually confirmed Thanos. Bosef didn't say anything, and the silence was taken as confirmation. I'm just saying, setting your heart on a Thanos appearance may lead to heart-break.

But, I'd be more than glad if he is in it!

I'm not fond of seeing Thanos as the Thor 2 villain, mainly because he's not a Thor villain, and I'd like to see the characters return to their own problems and worlds.

I'd be amazed if a Thanos-centered Avengers sequel could be made to be very personal and painful. That takes skill and writing talent.

Bosef also said that if you are a marvel fan, 30 secondes after the film started you will know who the villain in the after-credit scene is.

So he wasn't surprised at all.

For me, that means that no one can spoil me with that. I doesn't make any difference for me whether some tells me the villain's name NOW or I get it in the first 30 seconds of the movie.

Put him into Avengers 2 and then it'd make sense. There's no way you can go Loki ---> Thanos ---> Ultron. Anything after Thanos would be a massive downgrade. He's a villain you build up to and end a trilogy on. What you don't do is have a universal threat and then follow that up with a planetary threat.

Clearly, I don't know why people keep saying they want Ultron to come AFTER Thanos it's just doesn't make any sense.:fst:

I don't get that logic either. Having Ultron in Avengers 2 would make it personal if they have Hank Pym in there as the creator of him and show Ultron taking out people and things near and dear to him.

Yeah, even if Thanos really is in the after-credit scene, this doesn't mean that he has to be the main villain in Avengers 2.

He could make an appearance in Avengers 2, while the main villain is someone else (Ultron? Kang?).

THEN Thanos could come in Avengers 3 - after being introduced/hinted/alluded/shown in the two other films.

I asked him the same thing in the post screening thread and he still didn't answer.

Can somebody post a description of the scene?

....Aku....???

HELL. YES. :woot:

Well, Thanos wasn't in the movie :/

Sez who?

Granted, bosef didn't specifically say Thanos was in the movie, either, but he sure as hell ****-teases it.

Wish someone would have the balls to just outright confirm or deny instead of pussyfooting around. It's not like Thanos would have an impact on *this* movie, anyway, so why all the dancing?
