After the Brave and the Bold, what would you like the next animated series to be like?

I want Batman Joss Whedon style, awesome dialogue and strong female villains.
Sounds great until you realise that everyone including Batman himself would be using the same "Josspeak" slang in all of his works, that main cast members would be killed off for no good reason other than to be dramatic, and that he singular character focus for Harley and Ivy would be their lesbianism.

Seriously, I like Joss as much as anyone, but he writes everything and everyone in the same vein, which I don't think would suit Batman.

I'm all for a proper anime version with no DCAU voice actors like JokerLedger suggests. Anime gets a really hard time from us westerners despite the fact that some of the best works of fiction ever come from there. Seriously, someone should check out Monster, it was so good that it has practically ruined comics for me.

I'd rather not see the universe from B:TAS, JL, and JLU get run into the ground. However, I'd also love to see more of the oldschool noir Batman kind of stuff. In light of all that, a Batman show based around Batman from "The New Frontier" would be really cool to see.

A proper anime version of Batman animated by Studio GAINAX.
No Hamill and absolutely No Kevin Conroy doing the voices.

Yeah, Hamill's joker voice is starting to show its age these days, but Conroy's get's better with age IMO.

Well personally I think that, before anything, Warner Animation should do a Green Lantern Corps series. They have a whole universe to explore, and I think that, with the right creative team, it could be fantastic.

Having said that, there will most likely be another Batman series one day, once The Brave and the Bold has wrapped up. When that happens, I hope that they take a new approach. I dont know how that may be, but I hope its good.

After Brave&theBold, I would most like to see a continuaion of the original BTAS, also maybe a non-Bruce Timm styled DCU show featuring 2nd & 3rd stringers like Dr. Fate, Question, etc.

I'd like to see a spin-off of The Brave and the Bold, set in Gotham City with that version of Batman as well as Jason Todd as Robin(since Dick is now Nightwing),Huntress,Batgirl,Alfred and the villains already seen in the series(Joker,Riddler,Two Face,Penguin,Catwoman,Freeze,Killer Moth,Catman...)

I'd love to see a cartoon adaptation of the Batman and Robin comic book. Dickbats and Damian. I've always loved Dick as a character and Damian is not only a great character, but hilarious too. The new dynamic duo with a new dynamic between them, a different base of operations, different vehicles, new and old villains, etc make for a very interesting and fresh take on the mythos.
I'd definitely like to see this in a cartoon, or better yet in a live action movie franchise but i'm afraid that it would require the explanation of a very long and complicated batman mythos. I mean, Damian is what... the 4rth Robin, one of their main villains is Jason Todd, the 2nd Robin, etc.
They could use the first few episodes to briefly go through the bat-history and explore the story that led to the new dynamic duo, but i'm afraid that most kids would be infuriated, confused and ultimately pushed away. Four Robins? Bruce is dead? Batman has a biological son? Too much needs to be set up.

What about an adult-oriented GCPD series? The depths and dregs of Gotham from the POV of Gordon and the cops, with Batman slipping in and out of the episodes as a true shadow on the streets.

Well we could have gotten "Gotham Central" the tv-show if it wasn't for that awful Birds of Prey. =*(

Not interesting enough. If i want to watch a police series, i'll watch Law and Order.

I'd like a Batman anthology series with different creative teams coming up with their own concept of Batman with no limitations every episode. So we could get a different take on Batman during any time period or era with any set of rules the people in charge of the episode decide to use since it's not a cohesive series limited by one vision. It could be different 2 to 3 episode arcs or even just one shot episodes. But that will never happen.

Yeah I'm thinking the only way to keep things fresh at this point is to feature a status quo reminiscent of the 2000s. It would feature Batman, Tim Drake Robin, Nightwing, Oracle, Cassandra Caine, and Spoiler,

Either that, or yeah I would have a show about the death of Bruce Wayne and feature the current status quo, featuring Dickbats, Damien, Red Robin, Batwoman and Stephanie Brown Batgirl.

Let me break it down again. This absolutely everything we know so far. Take into account that none of this is officially confirmed by Warner Bros. Animation.

Green Lantern Corps

  • Bruce Timm's name was attached to it
  • Animated in CGI ala Star Wars Clone Wars
  • Set for Fourth Quarter 2011. If true, this matches how Batman: The Brave and The Bold debuted in a November, as well.
  • Insider saw five minutes of footage of Hal Jordan in space.
  • If true, more serious in tone than Batman: The Brave and The Bold and Michael Jelenic is also involved from an interview done months ago when he hinted at working on a new series.
Young Justice

  • Features Nightwing, Aqualad, Superboy/Connor Kent, Impulse, Arrowette and Miss Martian.
  • Stephanie Lemelin revealed she will voice Arrowette and some unspecified supporting characters. She wrote her final sentence as the show will be a Saturday morning cartoon.

Like the animation style. Dont care for the costume.

I hope they don't do another JLU style show. It just seems like EVERY Batman series at the end they throw a bunch of new characters in that just fizzle it out. Justice League became Justice League UNLIMITED, and suddenly there's a hundred heroes and no solid direction for the show to go. It happened again at the end of The Batman if I'm thinking right, they threw in Superman and other heroes. In my opinion, Batman has no place fighting alongside people who are doing the fighting in space. But anyways, I would like to see a CGI teen/young adult show start in the same vein as that MTV Spiderman series, I thought that had potential.

When JL became JLU i was disappointed as well. The first few episodes were very random and there was no overarching plot.
However, a few episodes later JLU became gold. If i remember correctly, the first season of JLU was about Cadmus, and that story was amazing. JL had focused on each one of the original seven members and there wasnt much else to do with them. JLU's Cadmus dealt with the league as a whole, like how would the world feel if an army of superheroes had a satellite with a giant lazer over their heads?
It also dealt with issues that came with opening the doors of the JL to more members. Huntress's methods got her banned, Captain Marvel's credulity was used by Lex against the league, etc.
But they didnt forget the original 7. They dealt with Jonn losing faith in humanity, Superman as a role model to the new members and the world, etc.
And last but not least JLU gave us all those wonderful b-listers like Canary, Green Arrow, Question, Mister Terrific, Supergirl, Stargirl, Metamorpho, etc.

NOT a continuation of DCAU that's for sure.

I'd say Neal Adams/Denny O'Neill style Batman, where the show has darkness but isn't consumed by it and has a far greater sense of adventure than BTAS. It would have a lot of Ra's Al Ghul appearances and true to the age Talia would be his one true love while Catwoman would be more of a flirty anti-hero. Hugo Strange would also have a large role becoming obsessed with the persona of Batman as well as his army of Monster Men. Penguin would be his older incarnation who plays fair and is a gentleman rather than the sly cheater of modern times.

There would also occasionally be appearances by other DC characters still, and Batman would travel around the world far more than most incarnations.

I would love to see a Batman animated show based off the Adams/ O'Neill and Englehart/ Rogers run. I like the idea of Hugo Strange. I defintely would like to see Ra's, Rupert Thorne, maybe Silver St. Cloud or Vicki Vale off of Conway/Newton run. Basically, the Bronze Age Batman. For a change I would not mind seeing instead of Wayne Manor, we see him in a Penthouse at The Wayne Foundation and a Batcave in the city like the 70's and basically The Dark Knight in a sense.

I think also other Batman animated series I would like to see are Batman and The Outsiders or based off the 90's-2000's version of Batman with Batman, Robin (Tim Drake), Nightwing, Batgirl (Cassie), Oracle, etc.

Those are interesting concepts. I would like to see GLC and Young Justice or a Teen Titans or Titans animated series with Nightwing, cyborg, Donna Troy, etc.

Also, now that we've got the Under the Red Hood dtv (which I love) and will be getting Superman/Batman Apokolypse and Year One apparently, what Batman related dtv would you like to see next?

A period piece set in the 40s or 50s or completely Steve Englehart / Neal Adams style.
