Is it possible that since The Wolverine will probably make X-Men Origins: Wolverine non-canon, can we see it being rebooted?
The Wolverine is set in Japan but can we see a proper adaptation of The Origin and Weapon X?
I think they could make 2 separate great films.

I think Fox is going more "lets just ignore it" rather then outright retconning it to avoid confusing viewers.

Yah...XMOW, if anything, was assumed as non-canon from the start, lol.

Plus, Darren, while on board, said numerous times on how The Wolverine will be its own and as a solo film with no sequels, but, I doubt that's what FOX intends.

However...give about ten years or so, I wouldn't mind a proper Weapon X film that deals with Wolverine's origins as well, but deals with the entire Weapon X/Project X idea with Deadpool, Maverick, Omega Red and Sabretooth. The RIGHT way.

Look at the Box-office performance of X-Men: First Class

The public aren't that interested to prequels!

So I assume The Hobbit will be a down-right flop?

You said "prequels" though, so...didn't give specifics there, lol.

But, I never believe what the box office says...Watchmen was a great film, but its box office was low.

I doubt the will do over Wolverine's origin completely. It's old hat by now, so they will probably just ignore it. They made have a retconned "flashback" of the operation in the new movie and make a reference to him having been a soldier, but I doubt they're going to drag us back to Stryker, Weapon X and all that. Just ignore XMOW and move forward with the franchise.

You make it sound as if First Class has totally bombed. A moderately-budgeted Wolverine movie that's true to and respectful of the character could most definitely be a success.

Not really

I just don't want the X-Men movies to reach that level that their movies are no longer grossing more than $150 million (in US alone) because they keep doing prequels.

They should reboot it as Weapon X where Logan is treated like an animal and the scientists are allways calling him an animal like in the comics, as he is being experimented on he starts to have remember some of his earliest memories, like the most important events of The Origin and Dog (Sabretooth) becoming his rival as they eventually loose all their memories of the past, Logan travels to Japan and Victor Creed (sabretooth) is found by Magneto.

Nope. Not reboot the Origins. And with the same actor! A big NO!

Maybe a third Wolverine's movie with him battle Weapon X (with Omega Red!!!) in Russia. It would be cool.

And shows Creed turn into Sabretooth!

And ending with him in Canada, in the bar of the first movie. It would be badass!

You obviously saw First Class but i don't think that Bond vibe could work for Wolverine.
Sincerely, The Origin was a grea story arc showing us the horrors of wolverine's past, while Weapon X showed him being treated as an animal, X-Men Origins didn't make it justice.
Show his true nature, show what he's really able to do when he's angry ( something more brutal than X-2's flashbacks and mansion scennes).
