Comics Age of Apocalypse

[Spidey Rules 2]

I've just read volumes 2 and 3 of this series and was surprised to find out that volume 4 will be out later this year.

My first question is, will 4 be the last volume, if not, just how long is this story.

Was there any reason to read volume 1? I don't think I missed anything, am I wrong?

Volume 1 is for purists really. I got it just because I was so excited that they were finally releasing AoA. But Volume 1 doesn't even really have anything specifically AoA. Seeing as how the very first story technically is Alpha, which is in Volume 2, and Legion Quest (what led up to AoA) isn't even in Volume 1, there's no reason to get it. I'm 99% positive that 4 will be the last Volume, as it has #4 of everything and Omega.
