TNT is moving forward with Agent X.

The Turner-owned cabler has handed out a 10-episode series order for Sharon Stone starrer Agent X, the network announced Friday. The series will debut on TNT in the second half of 2015.

The drama centers on an unseen person who works to protect the country and its citizens from all manner of threats by any means necessary in times of extreme crisis when traditional law and government aren't in a position to help. Created by the original founding fathers but hidden from the view of the public, there is an agent of unknown identity that is trained and ready to serve -- deployed only at the careful discretion of the vice president. The drama is described as National Treasure meets The Bourne Identity.

From The Bourne Identity's William Blake Herron, the action/adventure project hails from Turner Originals. Armyan Bernstein (Air Force One, Children of Men, Castle) is on board to executive produce.

The drama has been in the works since September 2013 and was passed over for a series pickup in May when TNT opted to retool the project, which also stars Jeff Hephner and Gerald McRaney.

Stone stars as America's first female vice president, Natalie Maccabee, a woman with brains, beauty and a cool composure that belies a restless mind. After the death of her husband, a Senate candidate, Natalie opted to run in his place. After a rapid rise as a political star, she now finds herself the newly elected vice president of the United States. Initially apprehensive that her job will be ceremonial in nature, she soon learns that it comes with a top-secret duty: protecting the Constitution in times of great crisis with the aid of her Chief Steward and a secret operative designated "Agent X."

Agent X comes as TNT recently canceled Dallas and will conclude Falling Skies next year. The network's drama slate includes Franklin & Bash, Perception, Rizzoli & Isles, The Last Ship, Major Crimes, Legends, Murder in the First, The Librarians, Public Morals and Proof. This sounds great! :awesome: I like Sharon Stone so hopefully they cast Agent X well to partner her.

I hope this doesn't affect President X which is also set for TNT.

AGENT X Season 1 TEASER TRAILER (2015) New Sharon Stone TNT Series

[YT]mtVcakZgB-0[/YT]This looks like fun. :D

DAMN, I'm just LOVING this show at the moment... it's great fun and mindless violence... it's definitely on my watch list now... damn, now I've got FIVE shows to keep me occupied on Sunday nights now...

It's so ridiculous but so much fun and all the leads seem like they are playing it that way. The concept is great and probably could be mined for more, but this show is like Human Target and The Player, it's soul is in the early 90's and I can dig that. :woot:

I'm glad to see Olga is in at least 5 eps. :hmr:

Not everything has to be Breaking Bad. Fun, entertaining, action-adventure series.

Do I want more character development? Yes, but it's barely just started.

The supporting cast is great. Sharon Stone, James Earl Jones, John Shea and Mike Colter. Not sold on the lead actor yet though.

It's not bad. I've only seen the first episode so far. It's like a cross between Madam Secretary, National Treasure and Bond.

And the cast is pretty good. I haven't seen Colter yet.

But the only criticism I have is that it seems slightly low budget. After seeing shows like Madam Secretary, The West Wing or Commander in Chief which have all used the standard White House set and other establishing shots of Washington, this seems to be sorely lacking in these. When they're walking in the hallways, it doesn't look the same as these other shows and more like they walking about in something that is a stand in. At least have some establishing shots to give it a grander scope.

Olga is sexy though, and ought to be in a comic book movie.

Also, I feel as if the Vice President should have a bit more staff of her own. Shouldn't she have some secretaries or personal assistants? She seems to be slightly lacking there.

You can briefly see Colter in the first episode during Sharon Stone's inauguration clip.

Just watched the 2nd episode. I haven't see Mike Colter yet.

But all I can say is that Olga is very sexy, and has sexy legs and feet which she seems to like to flaunt, as if she's trying to seduce the viewers with them.

I think the cinematography looks rather bland though and seems like something on FX or some other low budget show. It all looks a bit washed out, and that underground bunker looks like something from the 90s. Even if it is filmed in Vancouver, couldn't they have filmed some establishing shots of Washington DC and gotten better-looking buildings and interiors that resemble the White House? It all seems very claustrophobic and small in scope being set mostly in that bunker as their headquarters.

The show does look pretty low budget, but I think that's part of its appeal for me. It reminds me a bit of Human Target.

Now we have this ongoing plot sense in that there is a cabal in the government creating a shadow government.

It wasn't until the last several years or so that production values for TV shows went up so high and dramatically.

I think Human Target had a better look. The first episode of HT also had that whole train action set piece at the end which was quite movie like. Then the second episode had that sequence on the plane.

just watched the first two episodes and i like it so far. lots of fun and if it's really going to have a bourne identity/national treasure vibe then i think i will really enjoy it.

i recognize olga from vampire diaries, and she was one of the better guest stars/characters they've had on that show. it was nice to see her play a more active role here and more dynamic. as for john, he's alright so far too. they play well off each other. i could totally see sharon stone as a political player

Interesting twist it seems that the previous Agent X that's still alive is John's father. I wonder how that development will unfold and when will they discover the truth.

^that's what i was curious about too. little subtle things line up too, like how they both really love dogs.

i'm finally caught up. Colter seems to be a sneaky player.

i don't really like the villain of the week thing, but it looks like things are starting to tie together maybe. it's definitely not the best show but i hope it improves. the cast is too decent for something mediocre. here's hoping it finds its legs

Damn. Cancelled! :(

Liked this show. It had an 80's action tv show vibe too it.

already? dang. i was 2 episodes behind too
