Ahsoka Ahsoka: Episodes 1 and 2 Spoiler Thread

I haven't seen the episodes yet but didn't Fioni say in a previous interview that this show doesn't necessarily take place after the ending in Rebels (i.e., Ahsoka the White)?
That was in reference to her Mando episode, if I recall correctly. The second episode recreates the end of Rebels, as seen in the trailer.

It does rather feel like her story was moving to a point... and now they've doubled back to probably get her to the same point in the end I assume.
I feel like this has been an issue with a lot of the D+ shows about established characters. You kind of get this weird off screen regression just to craft a story to where the character was before to justify the show's existence.

If the Vong shows up, there is going to be some hilarious ROP level outrage. :funny:
By the way I like the Vong a lot. They could do with a few improvements, but overall they were pretty awesome and had some really fun major characters. I'm not sure if Filoni will be able to capture what makes then such, but whatever.

What I do suspect is utter contempt from audiences, because it's very much surface level LotR. :funny:

On another note, if it is the Vong, my chances of brain washed Ezra goes up! Maybe he'll have a sexy Vong master, who's brainwashed him for her pleasure. :o

*Sees Din return with his kid after the big separation in the very next episode while the show forgets the rebellious nature of taking his helmet off and why he shouldn't listen to the cult*

Huh, that's interesting and weird at the same time. Given that Fioni himself was in charge of Rebels, I would have expected better continuity between both shows.

If they're really setting the stage up for the Vong Invasion, it's really going to feel like a bigger recton. There's absolutely nothing in the sequel trilogy to indicate that the New Republic experienced an event like that prior to the emergence of the First Order.

Plus, it would feel like a really bad idea to adapt that storyline without the key characters (i.e. Luke, Leia, Han, Jacen, Jaina, Anakin Solo, etc.).

Well as far as premiere episodes go, I actually enjoyed this more than Obi-Wan, Boba Fett and probably even Mando Season 3 although I have no idea if its going to be able to maintain the momentum.

As someone who still hasn't found the time to watch Clone Wars or Rebels, I honestly didn't know what to expect going into this and despite the slow pacing at times I'm still very much invested so far.

It's no Andor but from a cinematic standpoint I already think it looks a lot better than Obi-Wan/ Boba Fett and IMO the lightsaber combat is already more impressive than anything we got in the Sequel Trilogy.

I really can't wait to see more of Ray Stevenson's character because that was a pretty great villain intro for him and his apprentice who I know I'm going to have to get used too.

It still sucks that he's no longer with us.

They have a Jacen.

Ezra and Sabine are being setup to be Jacen and Jaina.

Well I enjoyed it for the most part. Filoni still has the same pacing issues he's always had, so yeah, it was a slow start. But experience has conditioned me to trust it's going somewhere interesting.

Unlike others, I've never had a problem with Dawson as Ahsoka, and I don't here. However, this kinda feels like Sabine's story they're trying to force Ahsoka's involvement in atm, which makes her feel like the least essential part. I suspect that will change once we get to the meat of where we're going though, and I hope that is the case.

Indifferent to Sabine so far, but loving MEW as Hera. She's bringing all the right mom energy lol. Also, Chopper's head seems to be able to move more than it did in the animated series to me, which is weird because...animation...but it makes him seem more expressive, so I approve. I also did not know Kevin Kiner would be doing the music for this show, so that was a very pleasant surprise.

This lady is a Nightsister?!?! Wut.

I think I'm allergic to The Volume unless Greig Fraser is using it at this point. Andor has spoiled me big time on SW TV aesthetics. But I still think this looks better than Boba and Obi-Wan at least.

But yeah, here for Rebels S5.

Sleepless nights with a newborn has taught her well. :o

Huh, I completely forgot about that Jacen.

Even if they use Ezra and Sabine to fill in for Jacen Solo and Jaina Solo, we're still short on Anakin Solo.

Plus, how do you sell a galactic threat without involving Luke, Leia, or Han in the mix?

So was Star Wars halfway through that series. :o

Jacen will be the other "young Jedi". Or Grogurt. They will include Luke and Leia with their devilry they continue to force upon us.

Yeah, and with the info about LFL taking people's likeness's my very much noticing the Volume has turned being creeped out by it.

That was amazing…

Sassy Chop, Hera going full mom, Nightsister magic, Baylan and his Alice Glass apprentice rule… the ship directing/action is wonderful. Love the feel of the sets and costumes, go Filoni.

I’m a Rebels snob, so I’m more than happy.

Oh people have already finished both episodes? What time was this out? Was expecting it 20 minutes ago. Anyway, looking forward to it a lot.
