Akira Toriyama to give video message before Dragonball Evolution

What do you like about Goku as a character? I don't like him because he's relatable (which he isn't): I like him because he's a fun, happy go-lucky guy-- not someone who wishes to be a normal kid and win the heart of his high school sweetheart.

I find him to be relatable: wanting the best for your friends and family, having some confidence and compassion. And yes, because he's fun and happy-go-lucky. If he has to earn all of that in this film by experience, then it could be interesting, instead of being a predisposition, per se. Whatever they do with this version of the character, I'm giving it a chance.

I know he's not at all relatable to you. You've made that clear enough by your attitude.

Wow. Nice job jumping to conclusions and making it personal dude!

Why thank you.

I've tried to understand your high school trauma, and even kindly invited you to the movies so we could have friendship and a good time. And your answer is to lash out with sarcasm. Unfortunate.

it's unfortunate that you tried to call him out on his supposed "high school trauma" and now you're trying to make it seem like he's in the wrong...

...debate the subject, not the poster.

About Goku going to high school. A member at DBTheMovie who had a copy of the latest script said that the high school scenes aren't that bad and are just there so non-fans, people that have never heard of Dragonball, can understand who the characters are and what they do. As soon as the high school scenes are over and the journey begins to get the Dragonballs with Goku, Roshi and Bulma the film feels very much like the manga and anime.

i would be happy if it is in the begining as an introduction.....and nothing more.

You're being silly. The discussion came down to arguing opinions.

You keep pushing this on me, yet if I had some sort of "high school trauma" as you say, I would positively, absolutely hate Back to the Future, one of my personal favorite movies. :cwink:

Was I being sarcastic in my posts? Yeah. But did I lower myself to insulting you? No. So not only are these personal jabs unfounded but they are uncalled for.

Let me go on note here that nowhere in any of my statements, posts or opinions did I say that I'm not willing to give the film a chance. Not. Once. I'm not happy with some of the decisions they're making but it doesn't mean I'm not willing to give the film a shot.

Did I hurt you? We don't want to be dealers of hurt. But you used sarcasm pretty early on, so that means you have to pay for everything. Popcorn, soda, tickets. And gas money.

If you're really sweet to me the whole evening, you might get a kiss. That's a big might.

LMAO! I love you!

as long as the high school scenery is only 5-10 nmins of the movie, i think i'll be ok.
