The Dark Knight Rises Alex Jones on TDKR

These days, its either you're far Left or far Right. Sanity is dead.

*shivers*

Yeah. I'm not far left, but that's definitely the party I would associate myself with. Some of the stuff my cousins have said about non-conservatives have made me feel sick to my stomach.

We've taken care of everything
The words you hear, the songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure to your eyes
It's one for all and all for one
We work together, common sons
Never need to wonder how or why

God f'n damn it! I was just telling a friend about how much I hate this guy the other day.

A couple years ago, some old band mates of mine starting burning themselves out badly on drugs and they starting watching Alex Jones videos all the time on YouTube and buying into his horrible stories. I didn't know what to say because on the inside I was laughing my ass off at some of the things this nutjob was saying but they were totally buying into it all.

Don't hear much from the one friend, think he starting selling drugs outside of my city and the other guy is an insane by the book Christian these days. All in all, Alex Jones followers are nutty.

I'm drunk and this made my night.

Did you burst out laughing when he did his Batman impersonation? I know I did. :funny:

The folks at r/boycottthebatman should love this!

Nolan bothers asking the tough questions in his pop culture, and gets dumped on by the fringe he tries to include. All the while they line up for other blockbusters without a second thought. Sad.

Lex Jones forgot to mention that Mountain Dew is the devil's drink. It is laced with a programming drug that seeps into our system and programs us to accept these subliminal images in the films.

It doesn't surprise me. Just when you think Alex Jones reached his peak of stupidity, he reminds you there is no end in sight

Fear-mongering, paranoid, angry man. I used to get all wrapped up in Alex Jones, David Icke types and the like. It's a waste of time.

One could come up with a similar rant and hidden meaning on ANYTHING...The Flintstones, Sesame Street, Star Wars, The Walking Dead...if they read into it with that particular Alex Jones paranoid minset. He needs to calm down and enjoy the little things in life and stop torturing himself.

You know, that guy went over the top, but i do have an issue with TDK which he touched. See, according to the movie, it's ok if you violate people's rights, if you do it one time and you have the right reasons.

I'm guessing TDKR will explore that when Bane exposes how Gotham thrived on a lie, or rotten foundations, but still... TDK by itself said that it's ok if you spy on millions of people if you need to catch a terrorist.

At least that's how i saw it.

I think there was more to it than that. I am against warrentless wiretapping, and I don't think TDK had a pro warrantless wiretapping agenda. If that was the case than they wouldn't have added Fox's negative commentary about the subject, and then even more importantly, after it was used it was destroyed. The whole thing is supposed to make you wonder if it's really the right thing to do at any point. That's the way I took it. So they did use it and it found them Joker, but IMO that was meant to show that terrorists really do make people break there own morals, and also that if any type of spying and wiretapping is ever used on the public than that power should be let go immediately after it's no longer needed which is why it gets destroyed. That doesn't happen in real life, obviously, but TDK stills tries to show us that type of power should either never be used or let go of right away.

I think a lot of people don't seem to understand what Alex is talking about here. He isn't saying there is a conspiracy or anything like that. He's saying certain symbols and themes are repeated over and over as cultural memes in the entertainment industry. That is esentially the same point that a site like tv tropes makes. You can sense these tropes and ideas subconsciously even if your not thinking about a movie's plot on an intellectual level.

Alex just goes one step further and makes the argument that most movies are simple morality tales which push a simple good vs evil agenda, where the authorities or their substitute superhero vigilante are good and there is an evil force trying to subvert the status quo. If you don't realize this consciously you are more easily manipulated by the media you ingest.

TLDR: superhero movies, action flicks and other cultural memes push the status quo as our only hope against the symbols of terror and fear.

I realize Hollywood sells ideas in their products, I choose to ignore them and concentrate on the entertaiment values inherent in their films .
That is , when the movies are good of course .

Also , I think Alex Jones misses the obvious.
The reason Bruce Wayne is written as a billionaire is NOT because only the rich can save us , it's because not everybody can afford Batmans Equpment .

Alex Jones is a CIA plant; pay no attention to him.
