Is still alive. He was born in 1913.

Just a bit of interesting info.

But the one from Batman Returns is dead, right?

;)

Whoah, was he really born in 1913? That's incredible. He's a tremendous actor and was a great Alfred. His portrayal was very warm.

Do you mean Michael Gough?:whatever: I believe we should change the title thread. "Michael Gough Apreciation Thread" would be more accurate.

If I wrote Michael Gough, people would have probably thought I was talking about Commissioner Gordon or something. He is better known as Alfred.:whatever:

Another interesting tidbit: He worked with Val Kilmer in the 80's on a spoof movie called Top Secret!

Come on. People know how to use Google. Besides, you can always explain yourself.

And back on topic, Micheal Gough was great as Alfred. The only reason you may watch Batman & Robin besides making fun of the film.

PD. Never knew of that information. Kilmer and Gough before the Bat.:word:

Lol it was a horrible movie though, so don't get too excited. He was in it for about 10 minutes.

I know who Gough is and people here are Bat-fans will know what you talking about.

Gough was great as Alfred. In Batman 89 why do I think when Alfred sees Vicki for first time, does he fancy her or something

A great joke which Bruce makes that I never picked up on as a child;

Alfred: A feel a certain weight lifts when she (Vicki) is here.

Bruce: Alfred - why don't you marry her?

Keaton and Gough seemed to have a really fantastic rapport that we never really saw enough of.

That movie was a classic spoof I don't even like Elvis and I really enjoy that movie. Long live ZAZ.

Yeah I didn't mind it, it was terrible in a good way, funny as how gay Nigel was lol

If you mean the first time they bump into each other at Bruce Wayne's charity then yeah your right, he did seem a little smitten with her and who wouldn't, Kim was a fine piece of @ss back then, just ask Prince and Jon Peters. :woot:

No kidding. If you frequent this board and you DON'T know the difference between Michael Gough and Pat Hingle, you really shouldn't be on here again until you do.

He's also worked with Tim Burton two more times in Sleepy Hollow and Corpse Bride.

I agree 100% I mean seriously, give me a break!

Michael Gough is the man. I love Michael Caine in the role, but Michael Gough will always be the original Alfred to me...

He's also wonderful in his other work with Tim Burton (Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride) and a lot of Hammer horror movies and old British tv series.

side-note: does this guy seriously suppose people on these forums wouldn't know who he is?? Come on! :o

He was going to return as Alfred in the Justice League movie that was in development but got canned early this year.

He was also in the brilliant Dirk Maggs radio adaptation of Knightfall - check it out, if you haven't already!
