oh and Colin Strause confirmed on alienexperience that you wont have to wait 50 minutes to see the creature. This is only because you cant get away with the alien79 approach anymore as the characters arent that mysterious.
Before you see that as a bad thing, the director said that "less is more", we wont have anyone wearing red t-shirts this time ;) and that what will happen is that events will get gradually bigger getting the audience more and more involved with the story.

like ive said throughout this thread...this movie will be real good. Also - the Pred Alien will make an appearance, along with MORE new species...and theres a strong chance of the queen returning.
red t-shirts?

i think hes taking the piss out of the brightly coloured clothing that were worn by the characters in the first avp.

The dreadlock thing is just bull****! If you see in some pics, there are small dreadlocks around his head too.

i really dont care what colours they use. its just a t-shirt.

WHY WHY WHY!!!!

why would the alien have the same mouth as the preditor? WHY? it makes no sense.... it takes on characteristics of the host.... that's it... such as the dog alien from Alien 3, that perfers to run on all fours...... it didn't have a harry tail, a pink thing between it's legs, a floppy tounge and a snout? why the hell are they screwing this up so BAD.... the only way this preditor alien would differ from the human aliens is it would probably be a little bigger..... and that's only becasuse the AVP preditors were drastically larger then the ones from preditor 1 and 2.....

no Predalien... no 20 minuted gestation process for the aliens..... no dead alien head and tail as a weapon... Fox, stop raping the one series, Aliens 1 - 3, I loved... I wanted to show my children these movies, and now I have to make sure they don't see AVP, and AVP 2

actually, hmmmm, I could show them the original series, then show them AVP 1 and 2... then expalin to them that drugs are the reason the AVP series exists.....hmmmm, I think Im on to something.... drugs are bad...

You know, it wasn't Paul Anderson's, Fox's or anyone others idea working on the movie. The Alien with the Predator mouth is from the comics, which have already existed a couple of years. The AvP games had them as well.

So it's not like they're pulling that out of their asses. They're using the comics as a source material like Paul Anderson did, with young Predators hunting Aliens as a right of passage.

well, Superman fought Aliens in the comics too... why don't they add that....

it doesn't make sense to the context of the films.... these movies are trying to be the prequels to alien...

I wouldn't listen to anything they say. To me AvP are just elseworld Movies. Because if they weren't, that would mean that every Predator shown in the first 2 Movies were noobs. Because non of them had a mark on their forehead or helmet.

so let me see if i get this right. the allien looks the way it does because it comes out of a human? or doesnt it matter who the host ist?

all depends on what you follow... if you follow the movies... the alien always keeps the same form but it does carry on a few characteristics of the host... such as it running on all fours in alien 3.... characteristics, meaning behavoral and slight physcial... the alien will continue to have the same overall look... meaning black skin, no eyes, two mouths, tail, and acid for blood

alien resurection took a step in a different direction though, but this could be explained to the DNA process in the beginning... that might be the reasoning behind them having more of a brown tint to their skin.... (don't ask about the triple jointed legs though)

the comics are wierd... they go in many different directions....

Doesn't it make you mad that FOX turned away Ridley and Cameron? they wanted to team up and make Alien 5...... but we got this instead?

I actually would want to see a Predator 3 Movie more than anything.

But damn, Ridley and cameron teaming up? I only dare to imagine how great that would've been.

Ridley wanted to direct, and Cameron was going to write the script... it was going to explain the "space jockey" of Alien, and trace back the aliens to their home world... where actually the Alien isn't "king ****"... there are worse species then them... something about the space jockey removing the alien from the world because of how endangered it was, and how it would become a good weapon for them to use..... hense, the space jockey was on it's way to earth... it was going to use the alien... wipe out the human race.. then inhabit the world......

that pisses me off to no end. it shows Fox's idiocracy. i have no idea was Cameron is making Avatar under them. he should open his own company...

And Fox said no? I thought nothing about Fox could surprise me anymore.

AvP2 seems to be the only chance now that Fox will ever suggest to do another Alien or Predator. So, for the sake of those movies, let's hope that AvP2 succeeds at the box office.

^ well, I considered myself a die-hard fan of the series and have followed every tidbit on Alien V for the past 7 years, and I'd never heard anything that indepth about ridley and camerons Alien V. All I knew was that it was a smaller return to the horror and claustrophobia of the original, "ripley journey comes full circle" and tat "she wont see the homeplanet....but you might."

Where'd you hear this? sounds cool, but is it just speculation?

ridley and cameron together? thats like a dream team.

i want to see a movie from spielberg, ridlley, cameron.

interview with Cameron a few years back... and stuff off of the Alien Quad extras.... no where does it say that ALL together.. it is peiced together from many different interviews...

I wrote fox a letter awhile back, before AVP, and actually got a reply....

I saw AVP on HBO... I boycotted the film in the theaters, and urge you all to do the same....

well it almost happened - "we have a great script for Alien Vs Predator"...my god!

interview with cameron on Alien V:

QUINT: I remember before Paul W.S. Anderson did ALIEN VS PREDATOR it came out that you kind of made an offer to do another ALIEN film with Ridley Scott...

JAMES CAMERON: Yeah. Ridley and I talked about doing another ALIEN film and I said to 20th Century Fox that I would develop a 5th ALIEN film. I started working on a story, I was working with another writer and Fox came back to me and said, "We've got this really good script for ALIEN VS PREDATOR and I got pretty upset. I said, "You do that you're going to kill the validity of the franchise in my mind." Because to me, that was FRANKENSTEIN MEETS WEREWOLF. It was Universal just taking their assets and starting to play them off against each other.

QUINT: Milking it, totally.

JAMES CAMERON: Milking it. So, I stopped work. Then I saw ALIEN VS PREDATOR and it was actually pretty good. (laughs) I think of the 5 ALIEN films, I'd rate it 3rd.

QUINT: Ummm...

JAMES CAMERON: I actually liked it. I actually liked it a lot.

QUINT: You know, I hate it when movies don't abide by the continuity of their series...

JAMES CAMERON: When they make up their own rules.

QUINT: Exactly. They did that a lot with the alien incubation time, where from egg to chestbuster it happened...

JAMES CAMERON: In minutes, yeah...

QUINT: That kind of stuff really pissed me off with the movie...

JAMES CAMERON: Well, it starts to become a video game. It's like, "Okay, that can be in him and that can show up over here..." It becomes more metaphorical or more comic book. I don't mean comic book in a negative way, I just mean that it's working at a kind of mythic, metaphoric level as opposed to really trying to immerse you in reality.

I mean, I felt when I was making ALIENS I think the same thing Ridley was doing with ALIEN, which is... "I'm going to make you think this is real." Even though it is completely ridiculous deep space adventure. We were going to make you feel like it's real. It's a question of does the film take itself seriously or not.

KRAKEN: So you still thinking about doing something with it?

JAMES CAMERON: No.

KRAKEN: If we promised you our first babies would you think about doing anything with it?

JAMES CAMERON: (laughs) Well, the other thing I've learned is that when you deal with a studio and it's their asset... it's their asset. And I should have learned that lesson with PLANET OF THE APES because I had a great... great idea with PLANET OF THE APES, but it was Fox's asset. Even though I was supposedly developing it we didn't see eye to eye and they sort of picked up their marbles and that was that. They turned out, I think, possibly the most egregious film that they could have on that subject because they miscast the director. It's the only Tim Burton film that I don't like.

he's siad more then that in other interviews.... ^

Alien 3, the directors cut, is a very good movie....

i never understood why people consider ALiens 3 a bad flick. i thought it was great. not 1 or 2 great...but definitely nowhere near as bad as Alien Ressurection or AvP.

p.s. reading that interview just makes me even MORE pissed off at Fox.

Alien 3 definitely is my second favorite Alien movie. First is Aliens. A:R was a atrocity. And it might be because I just watched Alien a couple years ago, but it just bored me to death.

Alien 3, Alien, Aliens, AvP, A: in THAT order and I shall here no different as my opinion is the correct opinion.
