Aliens Vs Predator

Put this mother f**ing thing in space, get Cameron and Scott on board possibly, get a good story, REAL actors, and we may have a watchable movie.

with those folks behind it, we could easily have a classic on our hands, but getting them all on... thats (sadly) just a dream.

Just watched AvP:R. It's fun and decent if you treat it like a Grindhouse film. 6.5/10

I stand by the fact that I consider AvP:R to be the most incompetently made studio movie ever produced. There is a special place in hell reserved for this movie.

Not really, all it has to be with colonial marines & in the future. Different plot & character personalities. I think it'd be more similar to Predator 1. Maybe have a sub-plot of a good Predator vs. bad Predator. The bad predator is killing civilians (the reason the marines are sent there) & the good one is sent to eliminate the bad one.

Similar to Predator: Bad Blood.

Agreed. AVP:R was no master work, but at least it felt like an Alien....or at least a Predator movie, where AVP felt like a kid's movie.
It's funny, because I think AVP had a better cast and effects (I thought the Aliens looked pretty damn good), but the plot was just annoyingly rediculous from the get go.
AVP:R had some bad acting and bad dialogue, but the thing it at least got right were the title characters. Because of that, I have to give the edge to AVP:R.

AVPR was definitely more of a Predator film.

As for the creatures both getting the right treatments, I wouldn't say that. A lot of Alien fanboys will argue for pages about how weak the Aliens looked in AVPR.

Yeah, the plot was God awful. I agree with that but the effects in AvP werent that great either. At least from the Predator side. The aliens looked great and the flashback fight on the temple was cool but just look at the Scar Predator after he takes his mask off. What does it say that the original Predator from 1987 looks better than one made in 2004? Its like FX hadnt progressed at all in those 17 years.

I agree, and if there's any movie that exemplifies how an R rating doesn't automatically make things better. At least the Predators in AVP acted like Predators.

It the exception, not the rule. AvP:R shouldn't even qualify as R, I couldn't see schidt at all in that movie, bad ****ing colour correction.
