Aliens Vs Predator

If there was one big problem with the first AvP, it was the fact that the Preds didn't act like Predators at all. They were like big, football players on steroids and acted like Terminators.

As sucky as AvP:R was, at least it had a goddamn Predator in there.

It was merely the inferior effects studio. ADI handled the work as compared to Winston studios.

Woodfruff and Gillis are shi* awful when it comes to Predator design.

Yeah, the plot was God awful. I agree with that but the effects in AvP werent that great either. At least from the Predator side. The aliens looked great and the flashback fight on the temple was cool but just look at the Scar Predator after he takes his mask off. I agree completely. I'm kinda surprised to see other people saying how well the Predators were represented in AVP. The Preds got the royal, rubber faced shaft in that film. The Predator in Requiem at least looked and was portrayed more like the Preds from the first two movies. Like I said, Requiem is no classic, but at least it feels in step with some of the other films in the franchises.
But I won't say AVP is a total loss. Like I said, the cast was much better, and I thought the Aliens looked and behaved about as good as I think they ever have. The movie that I despise is Resurrection. That steaming pile of crap doesn't exist to me. Talk about not fitting in the mood of the other films.

The Predators have long been shown to have a sense of honor and show respect for other warriors. Whatserface showed the Pred that she was capable. Plus, life or death situations make for strange bedfellows.

The Predator in AVP:R was not only less responsible than the Predator in Predator 2, it was also nothing more than a vicious movie boogeyman monster the way it was needlessly killing helpless civilians.

AVP is just bad. Id watch X3, The Day after Tomorrow and Spidey 3 over that film.

I'm not sure about 'Day After Tomorrow' (now that was bad/boring film) but I agree on the other two especially Spidey 3 since I thought it was ok.

I really wish we can get a Predator 3.
IMO, the Alien series is f***ed up beyond being fixed, Alien 3 screwed up having some awesome sequels like the aliens invading Earth or Hicks & Bishop hunting down the last of the aliens.

Those awesome ideas, or a lame dog alien in a prison with a bunch of people you want dead anyway because they're scumbags?.... Hmmm...

Cameron had been working on a script for Alien 5 prior to AVP being greenlit, and Scott has talked with Weaver about going back to LV-426.

I don't think we're going to see a new Alien film any time soon. And there are continued mumbles concerning a Predator 3/reboot.

It was his original mission. Things just went downhill for him extremely fast once the aliens broke out of the sewer and escaped into the town.

I don't see how Alien 3 contradicted Ridley Scott's War of the Worlds adaptation into an Alien film idea at all. You're really still whining about Hicks? Give it a break, it's been 17 years and the most development he was ever given in Aliens was a first name. There's hundreds of actors who can hold a pulse rifle and shoot aliens.

It really sucks that Stan Winston passed away. There's probably no chance for another good Predator movie with him gone. The only thing ADI knows how to do is Aliens and I'd rather not see any more Alien movies either, at least until they get a good director and writer for one.

I think we should stick a fork in this franchise. Does anyone really want to see another Alien, Pred, or AvP movie from FOX? What needs to happen is another studio buying this IP from FOX but I don't ever see that happening...

jessie was an accident and ray had a gun didn't he? The only thing that didn't make sense about the "cleaner" part was that he left a skinned human hung in a tree. If he didn't want to draw attention to himself that's not how you got about doing that

Id love a new single Predator movie, if done right. I watched the original not too long ago. That movie is all sorts of classic.

I honestly don't think a stand alone Predator movie has enough gas to stand on it's own...or at least be good. There really isn't anything new to add to Predator. We got a glimpse of their homeworld in the last film which was good, but I think Predator is the kind of character that if you reveal too much, it will discredit the concept of the creature.
Aliens can still be interesting in that there is still a mystery behind where they came from? Were they engineered? Where did the Space Jockey's ship in the original film come from? These are things that still need to be answered. Plus Xenomorphs can become different species which adds some variety.

I like the concept of discovering that Preds engineered the Aliens to hunt, and the Preds had something to do with the Space Jockey's ship. That's a lot of fuel for another AVP film. It would be cool to tie it all together like that.

I don't think Stan had that much involvement during the time he was sick. Atleast during Iron Man and up to Terminator Salvation.

Trust me, I've seen dozens of people over at AVPgalaxy ***** about Jessie being killed. As for Ray, he never used his weapon in a threatening manner, like I said, people will find ways to make an argument. Not saying I'm one of them.


As for Stan Winston, toward the end of his life, he did a lot of work in designing, but as for building hands on, he didn't seem to be doing much of it in Iron Man. And we won't know about Terminator Salvation for a while. He left his company in very capable hands.

I actually think the Alien franchise has a lot more potential than the Predator. Its simple really: Make the next one a sequel to Aliens. The opening credits could be the ending scene from Aliens. Then they can go from there (that is if they are planning to make a seriously good movie.)

They wouldn't even have to have Ripley in it....just erase all the crap they did with Alien 3 and 4 (and the AVP movies). Maybe they can start it off with the ship crashing to Earth (like Alien 3) but instead have EVERYONE on the ship die (obviously Sigourney is too old to reprise her role....and recasting for Ripley would be terrible)....OR they can have only Newt be the survivor and have her killed later on in the film (Just so she gets the new set of victims up to date and we can somewhat fast forward through the whole "OMG!!! WTF is that thing!!! WHATS GOING ON!?!" scenes )

I think the Preadator franchise has promise as well...but since I don't think Predator 2 was that bad, I can see them continuing right were they left off with the franchise and just make Predator 3.
