Homecoming Amazing Spider-Man 3 Official Casting Call released.

This was posted before the sony hack, check the Facebook page.

Also, it's very likely a scam, the comments on said Facebook page claim it is.

We shouldn't really give it much worry

One other thing I'd like to point out is how unprofessional the casting calls are. it's Independence Day 2 casting call claims will smith is starring in the film, he isn't. And a casting call so long before the film, that does make much sense.

Was it? Sevenwebheads just posted a video about it, as much as a dislike a lot of his ideas, he has a track record of being tragically accurate.

They also list his co-star as Tommy Lee Jones. They can't even get their Will Smith franchises straight.

Looking at the Facebook page, there is no way that is a legit agency. Even the profile picture looks sketchy!

I checked the page source. It's suspicious the style for the submissions page is done in the HTML document, rather than a CSS. It creates more work and is generally considered unprofessional, it's also laid out poorly. So either this guy's just ridiculously cheap (which very well may be the case) or it's a scam.

And the shooting location for the spiderman film is in Atlanta Georgia? New York City's own spiderman is moving to Georgia?!? And that's the same shooting location for all the casting calls I looked at.

Yeah, Atlanta is a bit of an odd location to film a Spider-Man movie. I can understand why Sony likes to film a lot of the footage in LA since that's where the main studio is located, but why would they ever just move to Georgia? This whole casting call is both eye rolling and head scratching at the same time. Wouldn't look too much into it.

A lot of movies that take place in "New York" and "LA" will film in Detroit, Georgia, Pittsburgh- places where it's cheap. i wouldn't say this is evidence against the validity of the casting call, but the other point definitely are.

True. Though Sony tends to film in either LA or NY--not that they could ever choose to film elsewhere, but it would definitely be a big change for them.

It's BS. I'm sure Seven's track record is pretty accurate, but not on this.

Yea that's true, but Atlanta Georgia doesn't make any sense. It's always been New York and LA for the spiderman films.

Seven is a great guy to follow on YouTube. Such a dedicated and loyal fan of the web-head. I'm sure he's going to come out with another video talking about this casting call and how it's actually a fake.

A bit of me resents him though. I genuinely believe he was responsible for Sony choosing the man in the shadows to be the gentleman. Marc Webb admitted he was supposed to be electro, until the sequel was scripted, and it's reported that he wasn't named in early screenings. I wouldn't be surprised if Avi saw Seven found an obscure character that worked for his shared universe vision and said we got our guy. -__-

Seven is a cool guy, so I hope he fact checks it and puts out a video. Comicbookcast put out a video titled "The Amazing Spiderman 3 Is Happening! Casting Call Out!" And that upset me, I enjoy their coverage, but youtubers are jumping on the story for clickbait

I doubt that was the case. From the beginning everyone said that the man in the shadows was an "employee" of Norman Osborn. Did Marc Webb ever actually say it was going to be electro? I remember some rumors went around saying it could be electro with the lightning and all but I don't think anyone confirmed that.

I honestly think it was supposed to be The Gentleman all along. That's a character that ties heavily into the parents storyline so it made sense to use him. When someone asked who the MITS was, Marc W said, "Think the gentleman."

Oh yeah, I hope they at least change the title of that video or upload a new one with correct information.

You'd think they would, but instead they put out a second one titled "Andrew Garfield Back For The Amazing Spiderman 3 - Casting Call". He did address in that video that it could be a front for a reboot but mentions nothing of the many things in the casting call that don't hold up. I'm disappointed in them, they're usually quite good with coverage (even if they do go into rant mode during news breaks at times)

Wow, they really did that? I always enjoyed their videos so that's a bit of a shame that they actually uploaded a second one. :(

Yup, both still up. And they're not the only ones, a lot of film websites are doing the same thing.

And I'm in no way saying that the marvel deal is a sure thing by discrediting the casting call, the truth is we know nothing, and we need official confirmation.

I'm surprised a lot of these online film websites have not discovered how fake this casting call was.

Oh absolutely. It's simply a matter of discrediting a fake casting call that was making some big news. We really don't know what's going to happen with the Marvel/Sony deal other than the fact that it is still a possibility.
