I finally finished the story mode on Superhero difficulty at around the 12 hour mark. I stand by my rating of 8.5 out of 10. Awesome game.

I'm not sure what Beenox has planned in the way of DLC but hopefully some of it includes more random crimes and side missions. My biggest complaint is that the game needs more activities during free roam.

This. what's the point of unlocking all these suits at the end if the only thing you can do is swing around?
Random crimes happening would be nice.

You can replay any levels with them and you can start a new game with them being available from the start.

Hi there folks,
I bought the game today but didn't want to play it until I saw the movie first...so I did just that:D
The movie is really amazing (haha)!! BUT...it seemed (to me) like a cut down version of a longer movie.
Some scenes where edited together a little strangely and sometimes the music didn't really fit all too well. But hey, that's just me.
I asked my friend about it and he didn't thought of it like that, so...maybe it's just me.

It had a good mix of humor (this is classic Spidey humor for sure!), drama, romance and action. Oh jeez, the action, my god!
Spider-Man vs crooks was just so... insane! Sometimes I kind of felt sorry for the crooks:P
And than there's Spider-Man vs the Lizard! It was like fighting the friggin Hulk! Punches and kicks had little to no effect towards the end (he grows stronger).
I would've crapped my spandex pants for sure!

I don't know if the 3D is optional, but you folks should really just pay the extra cash and see it in 3D.
It was insane! Especially the first person shots. And the final swing was great as well.
He catapults himself out of a crane, swings amidst buildings, runs on buildings, flips through fire-escapes, does some other things (that my brain wasn't able to even register), shoots at the screen and BAM... credits!

There's so much material for the Amazing Spider-Man 2 (or it was just messily full of plot holes).
And again, maybe it's because I don't know the director's earlier work, but the editing seemed really strange to me...
First he was just the vigilante (hunting lookalikes of his uncle's killer) and than BAM... he's Spider-Man and than BAM... there's the Lizard.

Great movie, weird editing, that's my take on it.
Now it's time for me to play the game:D
Ask away if you have any questions.

Nice to hear. Would you mind if I copied this and posted it in the first reactions thread?

Oh, no problem at all.
Sorry, I didn't know about that thread.

The important thing, you guys, is that you're all still alive. Stay frosty.

Well...

I beat the game on "Hero" difficulty and I only got the trophy for beating it on Easy (Human). :(

I like this game a lot. I'm about 35% of the way through the story, but I have some thoughts on the game systems and controls.

I like the swing system a lot more than I thought I would. It's a lot of fun and still has a sense of speed. The speed just feels different than past Spider-Man games. I think it has to do with the closer camera and seeing things at street level move really fast in a real blur, not the blur effect that*past games had.

This is also the first Spidey game where I really felt gravity as a constant force. Falling off buildings is a lot of fun, and you really feel some of the weight of Spider-Man as he swings. I can feel him kick at the bottom of his swings and see the difference it makes when you let go of the webline. This swing system captured the pendulum-like motion of the swinging the best for me.

Now, there are some issues I have with the game and some suggestions. I really get the reason why they put in the hold the swing button to continuously swing feature. With SM2, they created this great, intricate system that I wonder if a lot of casual gamers just never really mastered. I feel this must be the case since they have kept trying to make the swinging easier.

I don't mind this feature, and would actually like to see it stay. Sometimes it's nice to just hold the swing button and point where I want to go while I look around and get my bearings. But I really miss the ability to do 360 degree loops and other things like that. I thought the system of holding the left trigger while swinging inside to swing higher worked pretty nice, so what if they took the same controls outside and made holding the left trigger cause Spidey to hold onto his web? Then they can keep the simple swinging controls and give advanced players another option to hold the left trigger to hold onto the web so we could swing higher and do 360 degree loops.

The other thing I miss about past swinging systems is the back and forth, left to right motion of swinging. TASM is always just straight ahead, which isn't quite as exhilarating as the other motion. I'd like them to add back in the ability for webs to attach to the left and right sides of the street so you can go back and forth sometimes. Work it into the automatic system when you hold the swing button so Spidey alternates attaching his webs to one side or the other when it makes sense, but also make it so when I push towards the left with the joystick and push the swing button, that my web attaches to the left side of the street. I don't mind at all if the webs attach to the sky like in Web of Shadows, I would just like to see the fun of alternating on different sides of the street return.

Jumping is pretty useless in this game. I hate that jumping happens when you press the button and not when you release it. That just feels very unnatural to me. It's also a weird jump that tends to go higher rather than forward. I feel like if the Web of Shadows jump was in this game, it would be awesome. That system let you jump just after landing from a swing or another jump, and that jump would go farther than usual, like the charged jump from SM2. There are many times where I'd like to push jump just after landing on a perch point in TASM, but the jump goes too high for my liking and not forward enough. A better jump would serve as a better linking system between swinging and web rush. I'd like to see the WoS jump return, with a charged jump that actually goes higher than 2 stories.

I'm also a little disappointed that the game isn't a true open world game, but rather Manhattan is a hub world where predefined stuff happens. I want to see them get back to a true open world game and have random events that use the different elements like police deadlocks, car chases and snipers in a more dynamic way.

Also, in some ways this Manhattan is the best-looking one in a Spidey game yet, but it's a little too generic for my tastes. There aren't enough landmarks in the game. I have a feeling this was due to technical limitations. You can see the same buildings repeated all over the city, and I would wager that it was easier for performance to just load in some pre-defined building assets in multiple parts of the city instead of more unique buildings. It makes every part of town feel too identical. Past Spidey games have had similar issues, but the building designs in this game were so good and unique that it's easy to see when they are repeated.

This finished the story mode on super hero difficulty. OMG! This is my new favorite game. The story was a little comic-y(new word) but overall it was fantastic. The final few chapters were so intense and I could not put it down. Cant believe we have to wait 2 years for a sequel.

For me: 8.5/10

Pros: Amazing Web-Slinging, Web-Rush is a fantastic new feature, great story, I greatly commend them for making a sequel to the movie rather than plot of the film with new material like 98% of movie-based games, good voice acting, pretty funny, good combat, nice upgrade system, TONS of unlockables, nice visuals for the main characters (Spidey, Gwen, Villains, etc), nice city, some nice enemy variety (thugs, infected, villains, and robots), pretty long (it took me 9 hours and 45 minutes, I still have those X-Treme Challenges, collectibles, and enemy photos to take), great details (suit damage, web details on enemies, other villain cameos during those Chang photo missions), and of course the little thing at the end credits was so awesome. Haha!

Cons: Side missions are very repetitive, the main game is slightly repetitive, not all the voice acting is great (some of those civilians you encounter have the weirdest voices ever), stealth isn't as fun as AA/AC, I kinda wish Web-Slinging was more realistic (webs stick to buildings) but I understand why they did it but it's still a small con for me, really awful texture pop-in (PS3 version at least), the generic enemies and civilians just look bland, while walking on the streets and not in the sky the city looks kinda bland compared to other open-worlds like GTA, all the bosses except for S-01 and S-02 were lame, Web-Rush has an odd, lack-of-gravity feel, combat didn't feel as fluid as AA/AC but it was still very nice and I really liked it, and this really should have gotten released after the movie.

For the suits, the only ones that I don't have are the last two hangers in the closet. Anyone know what those are?

I got to 97% completion and just realized that I need a photo of a Seeker. Problem is that I've already destroyed all the seekers. Now I'm permanently barred from getting 100% completion unless I start all over again.

Really sucks because I've collected all the comics and done all the side missions. Is there a way around this?

What is the after credit thing that people are talking about? From what I am hearing it sounds like Stan made an appearance, but I got
Smythe escaping from prison.

Go to the Oscorp Secret Lab 2 (or whatever it's called, the mission where you sneak in the lab, take a photo, and hack those terminals), this should be the one with the circle platform in the center with the robot testing weapons through the one window, go below this circle platform and you should find a broken Seeker, take a picture of it and BAM!

The game currently has a 73 on Metacritic, but for some reason they consider a 7 a mixed score. Yet 7 means good on most scales. God I hate Metacritic.

I'm getting it anyway. 73 is a decent score for a movie game. Smart decision, guys?

I have the PS3 version and I'm not seeing any of this mentioned texture popping occurring.
