AMC's Hell on Wheels

The second ep was much better than the pilot.

Things seemed to move much more smoothly.

Adam Worth and John Druitt working together again...

I really liked Christopher's Swede. Really creepy.

After really wanting to like this series, given my love of both Westerns and AMC...

I really do, after watching the pilot. Hope if only gets better.

Absolutely loved the second episode.

LOVED the new character Swede...Awesome ****

They call me the Swede. I'm Norwegian.

Just watched the second episode. Love it. Finally a Western done in today's filmmaking style.

Where do they film this? I love the scenery.

*cough* Deadwood *cough*

That said, Hell on Wheels is looking pretty awesome so far.

Last night was a good episode, glad it didn't take a whole season for the girl to be found lol.

I'm really loving Common in this show, dude is actually a good actor.

Yeah. Common's good. I liked how he spoke up about wanting to be called Mr. like all the other laborers. Dude commands respect. I may have missed it, but did he have sex with the prostitute?

Cullen was as badass as always. Walking through those dudes firing on him and only wounding them. Hes like the terminator in his quest for revenge.

I really like the whip scar details they put on the ex slaves. Adds more authenticity. Kinda offsets the heavy rock tracks they sometimes play lol.

Yeah, I noticed the whip marks too, very subtle touch. And no, I think he took off after they humiliated him in front of the prostitute. Judging by the way she was looking at him at the funeral though, I think she may come around to him.

Yeah, she will. I was shocked when she laughed at him initially though. I think this show is doing a good job of showing just how racist America still was after the Civil War. Some Westerns touch on this a little bit, but other times it just gets glossed over. Here it's front and center. Also, I agree, Common has been great on this.

I'm late to the game, but I watched the pilot on Sunday and thought it was all right, Ted Levine being the best part of it, but the second episode was much better. The third not as good, but still solid. I'm liking this show more and more. Love that there's a western show out there. All the characters are interesting, especially Bohannon and The Swede.

last episode was amazing...Its got the feel of a Leone film.

Liking all the characters so far

Any guesses who the Colonel is? It looked like it might have been Durant, but I don't think they'd make it someone that obvious.

I didn't expect this show to be interesting, but I LOVE it. The acting is great and the characters are compelling...best new series I've seen in quite some time. Very pleasant surprise.

....Was the Sweed scrubbing the floor...naked? What was up with that?

Another great episode, I loved Bohannan and Elam's exchange when Bohannan said something to the effect of "You don't know what they took from me." And Elam responded with "They didn't take nothing from you that wasn't taken from me." I really enjoy the uneasy relationship that's slowly building between them.

Hearing about the Preacher's past was also a bit of a surprise.

yes i also was curious why the swede was doing that. maybe to keep his clothes clean, something he picked up from being a prisoner i guess. maybe he is cheap and doesn't want to waste money on cleaning his clothes.

colm meaney is why i started watching this show, love ds9. it seems he usually plays a villain outside of ST. it was also strange that he wasn't irish in the show, if anytime would have been perfect it would have been now. at first i wasn't sure though. it seemed like his accent was faint and would come through so i never really new what he was in the show. then seeing him with the 2 irish brothers did it. he explained it himself that he is american.

Yeah, I don't know what's up with the Swede cleaning his floor in the buff... but he's such an oddball that nothing he says or does really surprises me.

Speaking of him... what do you think he wanted with the gunpowder kegs? They never said why his men were sneaking off with them, did they?

Nah, the Swede didnt say anything about his plans with the gunpowder.

This show is better than the Walking Dead right now, and is getting better and better.

I just think the Swede didn't want to get his clothes dirty, but he also might feel "dirty" for the black powder/telling Bohannan his plan so he decided to get clean. He's such an awesome character though, I'm excited to see what happens the rest of this season.

My only concern is that the plot seems a bit simple right now. I doubt Bohannan will be chasing Harper for the next 2 seasons, so after he kills him I wonder what will happen next? Have a falling out and take down Durant?

I had to do a double take when they showed the Swede cleaning. Didnt notice he was naked until the scene was almost over.

Yeah the plot is a bit thin right now. I dont know where they could take the story after he gets rid of Harper. Maybe the sgt tells Cullen that they were under orders from someone other higher up. Although thatd be too repetitive.

I have a feeling the revenge thing will no longer the be reason he's sticking around.

I really loved this last episode, that long range duel was pretty incredible, loved the sound design there.
