American Dad Season 3

So what did everyone think of the season debut? With Steve going to refugee camp in Africa.

Had some pretty funny one liners

I'm watching it now on TIVO, the show is really growing on me

Pretty much the sole time I laughed was during the arm cutting jokes. I dont understand why I hate this show so much. Its basically Family Guy (who's premiere wasnt good either, but then again the shows been complete ass since its revival), but some how worse.

It was okay. I still like American Dad, and I'm hoping the writing will make a turnaround this season. But both FG and American Dad just haven't had the scripts to take it to the next level. Lately it's been tired gags dull storylines on both shows and no character development. It's obvious Fox has overworked Seth and Co last season by ordering over 60 episodes for one season. and now the writers are just reaching for stories. Seth and Fox either need to hire new writers or give these guys a hiatus so they can come back with fresh material.

I think it can't be as funny as Family Guy, and that's the problem.

The thing with Family Guy and American Dad to a lesser extent was those shows were never about solid scripts. The running gags and flashbacks are what made them so funny. So when I heard people complain about that I was like "yeah your not wrong.....but it's still funny" you know what I'm saying? But I guess if you watch both all the time with a internet critical eye you can spot the redundancy. To me as long as they have running gags, you can laugh about it and remember it.

Family Guy was much better in season 1-3. They're just not writing them like they used to.

American Dad's first season was funny, but I'm bored of it now.

Fox in my area was messed up and I had trouble watching Family Guy and American Dad.

I liked it to. And I thought FG's episode was great.

I was never as disappointed with it as some FG fans cuz I never thought FG was that brilliant in the first place, it always had too many flashbacks and off-topic gags. But I kinda dig AD cuz anything making fun of the current administration get some support from me.
