I know there are a couple huge FPS games coming out in the coming months, Call of Duty 4 and then theres that little game that i think is the sequel to Halo or something like that, but i think this game could be pretty cool for those who like the more tactical and authentic fps games. Its being developed by Red Storm who does the GRAW series so thats a good thing.

I like the idea of having to earn your stripes so to speak. You cant just pick up a sniper rifle and land head shots all day, ya gotta work your way up. I think that adds a little extra to the game. I also think the game looks pretty good graphics wise. Im not sure if ill pick it up right away being that i havent seen alot of in game videos on it, but im deff keeping my eye on it. Any body else?

O yea, it also drops Sept 25.....same time as that other game

Everyone does. At least they're not set in WWII I guess.

Not all of them. Ubi does have "Brothers in Arms" though.

But really, some great developers are being used for games that we've been playing for years already. I can't wait until Irrational, Starbreeze and Epic are forced into WW2 shooters for the rest of their natural lives.

They make money, plain and simple. So unless you can get Ubisoft and other publishers/developers to start hating money then you need to just get over it. People make games to turn a profit, end of story. They dont care about you or your individual wants. They are going to produce what they think will make them a profit.

Thanks for the economics lesson, Prof. Moolah. Ooh ooh, teach us about "flooding the market" next!

Shut up, terrorist.

And Pat, that's great and all, you sound like a real street-smart dude for realizing that companies want to make money and everything, really I mean that, but the thing is, your comment makes no sense at all. It has no connection with anything anyone was discussing. So I guess my question to you is, why bother with the random observations? Because no one here has said that those games don't make money. You may as well respond to my post with "it's always a good idea to wear a seatbelt" or some statistics about global warming.

Hey, im just sayin. Devs/Publishers only care only for whats in your pocket.
"New game" doesn't mean "Financial disaster".

If Epic said "No, we'll just keep making Unreal" they'd be out of the 4,000,000 selling "Gears of War" and be left with the 500,000 unit Unreal Tournament.

If 2K Games said "We'd rather not take a risk" they'd be out of the critically acclaimed and best-selling Bioshock. The company would still be without a "stand-out" game.

Rare was making platformers for their entire existence before making Goldeneye which sold 7,000,000 units.

Sometimes giving an amazing team an opportunity reaps it's rewards.

Don't forget that games have "producers" whose jobs are to make sure the game has quality and appeal. Developers can be creative but also rooted in reality with a good producer, and Ubi's not short on those.

The project lead from Red Storm just left to join Bungie because he wants to do something different from Ghost Recon. A project lead from Ubisoft Montreal left for freaking EA of all places to head up EA's Montreal offices. Pidgeonholing talent is also a great risk. Talented people tend to be creative, and forcing them to make games that everyone else is already making brings about new problems.

Studios like Red Storm, Ubi Montreal and the like could be given a "pet project" and suddenly Ubisoft has another amazing IP. Obviously Ubisoft wouldn't want to have every game in it's lineup being a big risk, but they've got so many games in the oven they can afford to have one be a hit-or-miss, and most games are worth their risk.

America is the only army that has true soldiers. You never even hear about other armies unless they're Korean.

Pffft. When's the last time you heard of the Mexican or Canadian army doing anything. 1579?

I think they did something in a movie one time. That counts for something I guess.

Wow, dude, your reading comprehension is equivalent to that of a frog. Are you serious? WHF was whining at how there are too many military shooters, i responded by stating that its because they bring in alot of money thus you keep seeing them pop up. I'm sure he knew that, i mean hes a smart kid, but i was just restating it.

O don't get me wrong, im not saying that no one wants to produce "new" ideas, i mean what you just stated is absolutely correct, but when you have a genre like military shooters that sell well, why stop making them?

We only have 1 tank :(
But you have brilliant engineers. For all the illegal Mexicans coming over the border, that is eight future American Citizens in the next generation. I bet half the American population is Mexican by 2050. Especially since White couples typically have about 1 or 2 kids.

You'd be a great American Blas. Just stay at the more coastal areas. Get too close to the inland of this country and that's where all the crazy racists are.

That swooshing sound you hear is what I said flying over your head. All me and WHF were doing was saying "gee, there sure are a lot of these, I wish they'd stop making them", and then you replied with some nonsensical rant about how they don't care about us and just want to make money. It had nothing to do with it. But hey, if making irrelevant, common sense observations makes you happy, then by all means, continue.

You just dont get it, at all. Everything i said had everything to do with the topic started by WHF. Maybe if i phrase it in a real simple way that even you could understand, it would be: Just stop b!tching.
Like i said, i gave you the reason as to why you see so many of these games, you might have known this, but the whining makes me think other wise.
