Super Cr3w

Jon "Do-Knock" Cruz, 32

Ronnie "Ronnieboy" Abaldonado, 32

Abenamar "Ben" Honrubia, 31

Michael "Mike Murda" Carrasco, 32

Steve "NaSteve" Corral, 30

Fabiano "Neguin" Lopes, 27

Gibrahimer "Little G" Tovar, 24

Super Cr3w is comprised of the best of the best of three well-known b-boy crews—Battle Monkees, Full Force, and Knucklehead Zoo. First spawning from a chemistry of battling both with and against each other in the bboy scene, a camaraderie of friendship developed, and Super Cr3w was formed as a catalyst for the three crews to join forces. Their talent is unquestionable and their abilities are endless. Since appearing on ABDC the crew has opened three dance studios including one in Las Vegas. In addition the boys can be seen in movies such as Battle of The Year, Planet Bboy, Meet the Spartans, You Got Served, and Honey 2. The boys have also appeared in music videos and toured with Fergie, Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Sean Paul, Justin Timberlake, Paul McCartney and Missy Elliott, performed and taught at the first White House Dance Series hosted by Michelle Obama, and are a part of the principal cast of the “MUS.I.C” show at the Monte Carlo and “PRISM” at the Luxor Hotel alongside their fellow crew, the Jabbawockeez. Individually, the bboys have been living their lives to the fullest; Mike Murda has moved to LA after a few years of being in Las Vegas and now works as a DJ when he is not dancing, and Ben has two adorable boys. However, lucky for their fans, these boys are ready to put their personal endeavors aside, and once again unite to bring everything they have back to the ABDC stage.

We Are Heroes, the first and only all-female crew to win ABDC, believe it is their destiny to have formed this crew in order to make all of their dreams come true. We Are Heroes is not just a name to these ladies- it is a powerful title that they can own up to, and they would like to think their public exposure has made them “heroes” to many people across the globe. The crewmembers wish to play a positive and challenging role not only for themselves, but for other dancers and artists as they continue to take chances, know their foundations, and create a dance style that is new to the public eye. After winning season four the girls had a whirlwind of appearances and performances around the world. They appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres show three times, were featured Oprah, performed with artists such as Rihanna, and Justin Bieber, and for corporations such as Toshiba, Nike, and Disney. In the past couple of years the group has gone their separate ways, pursuing individual dance careers in different facets, however once the girls heard about the show returning they were ecstatic to get the crew back together, and are coming for the other crews with an arsenal loaded with both new members and new tricks.

Emilio Dosal, 25

Di Zhang, 32

Brandon Harrell, 29

Liza Riabinina, 19

Tamara Rapp, 20

Jean "Bebo" Carlos Lloret, 29

Bringing an intricate style of tutting that has never been seen at this particular level, I.aM.mE tries to set up optical illusions within the pictures they make so the viewer has to hit the replay button again and again. They refer to their style as “brain banging”- a series of connections and large scale visuals that create shapes and puzzles with the human body, which has proven to be a lasting hit with fans across the globe. After winning the title of America’s Best Dance Crew on season
six, I.aM.mE focused on taking the Brain Bang style worldwide and spreading the knowledge that they gained to the next generation of young dancers. Both individually and as a team, many doors have opened for them since their victory, and they love bringing their creativity to other competitions, showcases, corporate events, and YouTube videos. On a professional level, the crewmembers can been seen in Step Up 4, as well as music videos for Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and LMFAO. Chachi has her own clothing line and can currently be seen in the Hulu series East Los High. Additionally the opportunity to work for companies and artists such as Cirque Du Soleil, Honda, BMW, The LXD, Skrillex, and LMFAO has also taken the crew’s confidence and showmanship to another level. Armed with three new, talented members including alumni Tamara from
8 Flavahz (season seven) and Bboy Bebo from Phunk Phenomenon (season six,) I.aM.mE is excited to show how far
the Brain Bang style has come in only a few years time, and ready to once again take on the competition.

Chris Thomas, 28

Nico Banuelos, 24

Kyle James Price, 24

Marcus "TK" Jones, 20

Hailing from Arizona, these desert boys met in the hip-hop scene and have been together ever since. Having each lived in a different state at some point in time, they have thrown all of their influences into a pot to create a unique mix, and call themselves Elektrolytes because “dance fuels their body.” After being crowned season seven champions, the eight friends continue to tour coast to coast as well as internationally, thrilling thousands of fans with their dynamic stunts, intricate choreography, and trademark high energy, full force routines. Resisting the bright lights of Hollywood, the crew has remained in Arizona in order to be the driving force of the thriving Arizona Hip Hop community, and have even opened up a dance studio in their hometown where they are local celebrities. Off of their success they have also performed at the Latin Grammys, and won first place in the US Adult division at Hip Hop International. On a personal note, Chris, Kyle, and George are now married, and Chris has a new son who will turn one in July. Being the newest of the ABDC champions, these boys are eager to keep their reigning title, and excited to return to the competition.

With members hailing from Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco, the Kinjaz were founded in 2010 by Mike Song, who is a former member of Kaba Modern (ABDC season one,) and Anthony Lee, a member of the LXD. The crew also includes Ben Chung, an original member of Jabbawockeez, (ABDC season one.) With over 30 total members, including individuals who specialize in other skills besides dance, they like to consider themselves an "Artist's Fraternity,” and are known for their signature intricate choreography style and creative storytelling through dance and new media. Their shared objective is to cultivate their brotherhood at all costs, achieve the meaningful aspirations of each brother, and to positively impact the world with their time and talents. Individually the members have danced on/with the Ellen DeGeneres show, Step Up Revolution, Red Bull BC One Guest Performers, Microsoft, Virgin America, BLAZE World Tour, The LXD, Jennifer Lopez, Jabbawockeez Mus-I-C Show, Nickelodeon Halo Awards, Gatorade, and Coca-Cola, just to name a few! “This season of America’s Best Dance Crew coming up is going to blow people’s minds. It has some of the best dancing you’ll see. There are at least four routines on the first episode that I think should be nominated for an Emmy,” declares Napoleon D'umo, one half of the two-time Emmy-winning choreography team known as Nappytabs, about the comeback season of MTV’s much-loved dance competition.
Yes, after a three-year hiatus, America’s Best Dance Crew is back in an all-star format, starting Wednesday, July 29 — with past winners like Season 2’s Super Cr3w, Season 3’s Quest Crew, Season 4’s We Are Heroes, Season 6’s i.aM.mE, Season 7’s Elektrolytes, and Kinjaz, a crew featuring members of Kaba Modern, the LXD, and originalABDC champs Jabbawockeez. And Nappytabs, supervising choreographers for the first seven seasons ABDC, are back as the series’ executive producers.

To celebrate the return of ABDC, Napoleon and his partner in love and dance, wife Tabitha D'umo, got all nostalgic and chatted with Yahoo Music’s Reality Rocks about their favorite ABDC routines of all time. Here they are, in no particular order… plus a bonus pick of my own!
Beat Freaks, Illusion Challenge (Season 3)
[YT]EjQ9vfzrcfs[/YT]

TABITHA: Just the illusion that they created and how smart they were with it makes this a favorite. Every crew had to overcome how to incorporate a magic trick into their choreo, and Beat Freaks did it better anyone.
NAPOLEON: [I like this] mainly because I was involved in it, because I was controlling the ball! [laughs]
TABITHA: Napoleon and another gentleman were in the bleachers, tethered…
NAPOLEON: Hey, don’t blow the gag!
YAHOO MUSIC: Was the ball on wires? It really looks like it was floating, and operated via remote control…
NAPOLEON: Ha, we didn’t have the budget to have a remote-controlled ball! That would have been awesome! No, this had to be super-choreographed, with us doing the ball and them doing the choreography. The timing had to be exact.
TABITHA: If there was one little error, they would have tripped up. The timing was imperative!
Poreotix, Regional Finals (Season 5)
[YT]nUtZRTxOlPA[/YT]

NAPOLEON: The reason this was one of my most memorable routines is behind the scenes, producer-wise, everybody thought it was going to be a bomb. They all fought it: “No, we can’t do country music, that’s corny; this is a hip-hop show, blah blah blah.” I said, “You guys have to take a chance!” They had to understand how talented these crews are and how the crews can dance to numerous things, all types of music. With this one, [producers] fought it, but when they saw it, it was amazing. Everybody loved it; they all went crazy. It also identified Poreotix not only as the visual poppers that they are, but showed they’re actually funny.

TABITHA: They didn’t want to do the typical “ABDC-ize” thing and overtrick it. They wanted to do the exact opposite. It was a risk for them to do not super-high-energy music, but it worked out.

Champions for Charity All-Star Opening Number (Season 5)
[YT]UWaIizAs46M[/YT]
NAPOLEON: This was obviously a huge one for us. After five seasons, this was the first time everyone came back, so we treated the crews as royalty. This was just visually stunning. It reminds me of what’s going on this season, with the all-stars.
Illusion Challenge All-Star Opening Number (Season 5)
[YT]pvjBz-ailzE[/YT]
TABITHA: With this one, we got to utilize the stage in a different way. We took the crews, introduced them one at a time, traveling from backstage to the stage.
NAPOLEON: Lil’ Mama was in the routine; we had a crazy magic-trick dress change with her. And at the end, everybody disappeared and Mario Lopez appeared.
TABITHA: There was so much production involved, with the set pieces, the wardrobe, all tied together in one.
NAPOLEON: We submitted that one for an Emmy. Unfortunately, it didn’t make it. But it was one of those routines that we thought was that strong.
i.aM.mE, Rihanna Challenge (Season 6)
[YT]z9a2Blr7RD8[/YT]
TABITHA: When Chachi [Gonzalez] skates across the dancers’ backs, it almost looks like they’re floating. It was just the most clever visual moment I’d seen in a long time.
NAPOLEON: Such smart movement.
TABITHA: I think Phillip Chbeeb and this crew brought something to ABDC that hadn’t been seen. They called it “brain-banging” — and it certainly banged my brain!
Quest Crew Finale Performance (Season 3)
[YT]bU4PoTuXg6o[/YT]
NAPOLEON: They created their own music, played the piano live, and then D-Trix [Dominic Sandoval] jumped on the piano and did a headspin. It was their best performance ever.
Jabbawockeez, “Robot Remains” (Season 5)
[YT]mZg93y13rJo[/YT]

NAPOLEON: We built a big, giant mask that actually still exists today in Jabbawockeez’ offices. The mask flew down, they came out from behind the mask, and it was pretty iconic.

Super Cr3w, Bring the Beat Challenge (Season 2)
[YT]B_dm8bqqBtg[/YT]

NAPOLEON: Probably not a lot of people remember this one… but Iremember it!
TABITHA: Oh! So good! I think you’ll be surprised if you go back and revisit it, because this one was definitely action-packed.

Reality Rocks’ Honorable Mention:
[YT]zV3VOxafzxE[/YT]

OK, so I couldn’t resist adding my own favorite routine to Nappytabs’ already impressive list: Fanny Pak’s savagely epic and literally bloody great “Get Ur Freak On,” from the Missy Elliott Challenge of Season 2. Fanny Pak were so robbed that season that MTV brought them back for Season 7 (when they were robbed again). Between those two seasons, this insanely creative crew delivered 18 eye-poppingly neon-bright performances — but “Get Ur Freak On” still stands out as the funkiest and freakiest of them all. Fanny Pak creator Matt Cady has gone on to become a much-sought-after choreographer, even working on Madonna’s 2012 MDNA tour.

ABDC is back on the air!!!!!!! Who's watching??????

O.K. Feedback time, what you thought of tonight's episode?

Quest Crew seem to be really popular on Twitter they've been trending for like the last couple of hours.Besides Kinja I really loved I.AM.ME and Supercrew (Electrolytes had their moments as well).I thought We Are Heroes was okay as well as Questcrew.I really wish Poreotix was on this season.

Elektrolytes have been eliminated!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That sucked becuz I thought they and Supercrew were the most improved crews. I agree what you've been saying about QuestCrew this season. Nothing new, nothing that made me say "damn" .... until last night. Their mash up with I.am.Me was their best stuff this season. Their solo stuff last night was good too but I think they're winning was due to more of i.am.me giving an alright performance. Kinjaz are nice but the whole ninja theme is becoming old real fast. Still, their performance to a human beatbox was sick.

IaMmE was eliminated, but Moon helped them go out right with this
