Sequels An idea crazy enough to work?

No Spiderman in any avengers movie. Period. READ THIS MARVEL. DONT DO IT!

Any and all things Spider-Man are part of the deal, I don't know if it includes new characters, but seeing as how Fox owned Darwin, who wasn't created until after they got the rights to make the movies, I suspect that the deals with Fox and Sony are for ALL things related to those properties. Even if it weren't, he couldn't be called Spider-Man or Scarlet Spider. They'd have to make up a new name, and still risk being sued by Sony for potentially stealing fans from Spider-Man.

I don't think Avengers works for teenage characters. It's a bit heftier than that, with the military angle. I like Miles Morales, and I don't think he's any less a Spidey than Peter, but the idea, unfortunately, isn't quite crazy enough to work, legally or thematically.

If it's a diversity issue, Black FRIKKIN Panther is waiting in the wings (since Fury is just a supporting overseer, not an active member). If it's a Spider-Man thing, then we can't have him, he's off limits.

If I recall correctly, Kevin Feige once said that Sony has the right to make solo Spider-Man films, but if Marvel wanted to include him in the Avengers, it would technically be legal. Of course, you know Sony would get pissed and probably sue Marvel regardless.

I don't think Sony would be pissed. In fact, I believe there have probably already been talks and negotiations between Sony and Marvel to include Garfields Spidey in the MCU, but maybe not necessarily an Avengers movie. With as popular as The Avengers has been and as much money as it has made and given the recent financial troubles of Sony Pictures, they may see an opportunity to capitalize on that popularity and boost Spider-Man.

If Sony wanted to use Avengers to boost Spider-man's popularity then they missed that boat

How so? Will The Avengers cease to be popular in the future?

Maybe for the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man, but not for future movies.
I would adore if Marvel Studios could work out a deal with Sony to use Andrew Garfield as Spider-man.
None of this Miles whoever crap.:down

I love Spider-Man. love love love Spider-man. I have no problem with Spider-Man being in the MCU.. in his little corner with his own Adventures. But he should never. Ever. Be an Avenger.

If sony really signed the rights contract with the "Spider-Man can be used by marvel if it is a team-up like avengers" stipulation in there, their lawyers and heads of the company are IDIOTS and should be fired. How dumb, imo.

Anyway, I don't think Spider-Man is never going to Marvel ever again, and I don't think Sony was dumb enough to 'Let spidey go galavant with other heroes' from marvel either.

I am looking forward to TASM a bit more now though.

Yeah, I don't think Spider-Man works as a full-fledged Avenger but being incorporated into the MCU would be mutually beneficial for both Sony and Marvel/Disney. I could however see an Avengers 3 where an "all hands on deck" scenario, possibly because of Thanos, would require Spidey to make a cameo appearance lending a hand.

Eh, if by cameo, you mean flashing by a TV and hearing a newscaster saying 'A man dressed like a spider saved some people from..whatever" I'm all for it. I don't need/want spider-man in anything avengers related.

But I get what you're saying. Kind of like in X-men:TAS during the phoenix saga when the universe was being pulled into the M'Krann Crystal; they flashed to different parts of the world, you saw sunfire(I think) deflecting fire rocks from a volcano, thor was shown, and spider-man wascatching someone(or something) with his webbing can't remember, as the world was turning to ****. I could see something like that probably working, as long as they didn't feel obligated to write him into another movie as a full character.

I'm sure it would work and I'm sure I'd even enjoy it. But, that doesn't mean they should do it, and hopefully it never comes to that.

IF (!) it really has to be, I'd prefer Wolverine over Spider-Man in an Avengers movie.

I don't see that at all. Wolverine doesn't fit nearly as well as Spider-Man. Anyway, the only reason this is being discussed at all is because it seems like Sony has a decent working relationship with Marvel. Fox's relationship with Marvel seems far more guarded and distant.

I'd rather Wolverine learn how to work on a team in the X-movies, not Avengers. :o

Again, disagreed. I don't like Spidey as a staple member, but I'm fine with him aiding in another alien battle.

If Spiderman and Wolverine were to appear in a Avenger movie the movie would make a lot and i mean a lot of money but i don't think that would happen until they rebooted the Avengers

yes because Avengers needs help making money

Don't need to see QS as an avenger. Always thought he was a better villain. Wonder-man I don't particularly care either way, but it sounds like he won't be in this MCU any time soon.

But I get the gist and I predominately agree, all of them basically before those 2.

Marvel is taking pitches for a solo Quicksilver movie

Wonder-man is awesome

Never said I didn't like Wonder-Man just don't particularly care if he makes it into the MCU or not.

They are eh? For me, as soon as you can't mention he is a mutant, it's dead in the water for me.
