On Conan, popular news anchor Ron Burgundy stopped by to announce some great news! (3:54 of the vid)

There you have it. Paramount and Ferrell have some to an agreement and a sequel is on its way.

I'm in a glass case of emotion.

3 years ago, I would've said great. At this point it just feels desperate. What was Ferrell's last hit? Step Brothers?

This is great news. This is my favorite comedy ever. Sequels are hit and miss, but this is guaranteed to work all the time %60 of the time.

Which is why Will Ferrell's probably jumping for joy and hugging his bank account close right now after a series of really bad flops.

That was about the best way he could have made that announcement.

I liked Anchorman the first time I saw it, before everyone I knew started quoting it constantly and saying it was the funniest movie ever and that every time it was suggested that we watch a movie, people constantly kept suggesting Anchorman.

The Other Guys was a big hit less than two years ago.

I just hope it doesn't feel like a rehash.

The Other Guys and Megamind were huge hits in 2010. The only major flop that Ferrell has starred in recently was Land of the Lost. The rest of the stuff that Ferrell has been doing has been small scale stuff and focusing on Funny or Die.

Awesome news, my favorite Will Farrell film is Anchorman, I love me some Ron.

Huge Anchorman fan so I am happy. I didn't go see Padre because it looked dumb.

Ron Burgundy is celebrating tonight with a drink of Scotch.

Exciting news, interested to see what the plot will be.

Wouldn't mind a sequel to Talladega Nights also.

The Other Guys had a budget of 115 million and when revenue sharing with theaters is factored in, it broke even. As for Mega Mind, that's not so much a win for Ferrell as much as it is a kids movie bringing in bank as they tend to do.

I dunno, I love Anchorman but this feels desperate and safe. I'd rather see Ferrell and McKay team up on something new than retread old ground.

You don't have to see it and the original Anchorman along with Wake Up, Ron Burgundy will still be great.

They tried to make it two years ago but Paramount didn't think they would make money, even with Rudd, Carell and Ferrell being bigger stars now and taking pay cuts.

If he was desperate he would've done Talladega Nights 2, which was his biggest film with McKay and an easy sell with as an NASCAR movie.

would rather have a sequel to Old School. speaking of which, wasn't there a sequel in the works where they go on spring break?

anyway, can't wait for this sequel! :woot:
