You know, he's a household name now because of Casino Royale, and the idea of Daniel Craig and Christopher Nolan teaming up would be amazing. He seems like a "big name" that they should all go for.

Plus.. would Craig not be brilliant as Harvey Dent/Two-Face? He just fits the part perfectly.. and we all know that he can have a temper.

I really think that Daniel Craig IS Harvey Dent.

Of course, the only problem is that "James Bond 22" is due out in 2008, the same year as "The Dark Knight", so maybe filming conflicts could arise there... unless Harvey Dent doesn't have a *huge* role in this movie.

Actually, he would be a good choice--but at this point it would smell of gimmick casting.

so. if he can do bond he can do dent.

But see, all this talk about gimmick casting can also be said for Colin Farrell, who's apparently "in the running" for Dent, yet he played Bullseye in Daredevil.

James Marsden in X-men AND Superman Returns
Halle Berry in X-Men AND Catwoman AND Die Another Day (007)

I don't think Daniel Craig being Dent would be THAT big of an issue.

Did you not read what I said? I said he would be a good choice. I just don't see it happening.

Id rather have Daniel Craig then Colin Farrell he has been in some bad movies lately Miami vice was horrible, Alexander wasnet good. I dont like him as much as i used to. But i love Daniel Craig especially after watching Casino Royale.

i have loved him in all the movie that i have seen him in and he just fits in to any role he is given so, if he were cast he would be able to do the job.

Daniel Craig is sweet, but the problem with him is we wont think "It's 2face" we won't think "Hey Daniel Craig makes a good 2face" we will, however think "Hey...it's James Bond" that can't happen with Face

Not that I want Farrell for Dent, but he isn't that bad, Miami Vice seems to be a very mixed reaction movie, where the people who like it, love it, and the people who didn't like it, hated it. I thought it was okay, probably on par with Manns worst stuff, but still a decent cop drama none the less. I also happen to think he would make an okay dent, nothing that can't be duplicated, and improved upon by anyone, but still he wouldn't suck ether

NOOOOOOO Colin Farrel. I can't stand the guy. Daniel Craig would be a much better choice but I don't think he would do it with his obligations to Bond.

Ever since seeing Casino Royale I have been thinking Craig would be a good Dent because now he has some mainstream exposure. He was brilliant in CR, Layer Cake, Archangel and The Jacket and showed that he can play both a sympathetic and volitile character which is essential for Harvey.

I don't have a problem with his look because as Two Face he needs to be a physical threat to Batman and Craig fits the bill. Sure he isn't the best looking guy in the world but if he's good enough to play Bond then he can play Harvey Dent. The only problem would be could be do the american accent? I think his english accent mite PO some purists.

But regardless Craig is one of the best actors in the world right now and with his range he could make a perfect Batman villain whether it be Two Face or another villain such as Riddler, Hush, Cain etc.

Oh yea forgot about him in that, Craig is now one of my top favourites for Dent but he probably won't be able to do it because of Bond 22.

He probably wouldn't suck but he hasn't been in a good movie in awhile. My beef with Miami vice was that it was just talking, if anyone here has seen Clerks 2 where he describes LOTR and that is just walking that exactly what Miami vice was but with talking. I just think with all the bad movies hes done lately it would just taint the movie.

@Maniacal. Hes doing another book to movie series i believe with Eva green not sure what the name is but thats his next movie i think.

What the hell is gimmick casting supposed to mean?

Anyone who has seen a good host of Daniel Craigs films will not be thinking 'Hey look its James Bond'. Casino Royale is only one film of many hes done, and come on, hes hardly type casted with just one bond film under his belt.

Onto the subject though, Daniel Craig is a great actor, hes quickly becoming one of my favourites (Ralph Fiennes has that honour at the minute), and personally, although I never thought about him playing Dent before I saw this thread, I think the idea itself has great potential. i would be very happy if Daniel Craig was casted as or favourite disfigured DA.

I'm really liking the idea of Daniel Craig as Harvey Dent. He's is a great actor and he has one fecking menacing stare on him.

Didn't he say he's got all next year off until christmas 2007 before he has to film bond 22?

I think what makes him a good actor is that he took bond on seemingly able to ignore all the expectation and existing history for the character and make it new and fresh by approaching Bond as 'just another role'.

This would be great if he could do the same for Two-Face, however right now he's Bond (for at least three films), and he's Azrael in the new 'His Dark Materials' Trilogy that's coming out soon and then what if he were Dent as well.

I don't think he'd wanna be tied down to three big franchises for the next five - six years of his career.

Meh, not good looking. :o
i think thats the biggest problem is his looks, same thing for casino royale, bond isnt supposed to be ugly and nor is dent, though he wouldnt be a bad choice

Really now? Not read the books then have you? Actually Bond isnt supposed to good looking as a matter of fact. He was actually described to be an intelligent thug who happens to be an agent, grim of face not handsome.

Actually Fleming DID describe Bond as very good-looking throughout the books. It's funny, his section chiefs and allies describe as a good-looking guy, while his enemies(Smersh in FRWL) say he's a nasty, tough looking customer.

He's very handsome, but still a thug doing the governments dirty work in many people eyes.

For Dent? No. I mean i really think he could pull it off, but no. He's too big now and would probably overshadow the film. Besides, he is starting pre-production for Bond in January, and will start shooting anytime between June and November.

yeah as someone said before,it wouldnt be like,oh look its craig,it would be oh look its james bond!

Err..why?

That's like watching the Prestige and going the whole time, "man, why are Batman and Wolverine living in turn-of-the-century London?"
