James Rolf has announced that an Angry Video Game Nerd movie is in the early stages of development. He is staying mum about what the movie's plot is, other than a brief comparison to Wayne's World and how it had the main characters leave their "set" and interacting with the world outside. The script has been in the works for about 2 years and it's still in the planning stages. Rolf is not yet sure what kind of production it will be (independent or studio financed), or what kind of release it will have (limited release vs. wide release), but he assures fans that it will be a fun movie and that when it's in production, it will be worth the hiatus it will put on updates to the AVGN website.

I hope he gets what he needs to make the movie happen. I love the AVGN videos and I'm curious to see what Rolf will do with a feature-length film, since he's stated many times that his passion is making films. I'll be keeping an eye on this.

Amazing how these days some guy can just get a camera and make hilarious reviews off bad video games, and then become super famous, and then get a film.

I hope this really does work out for him . It's a big transition and won't be easy but he'll receive high praises if it pans out.

I've seen those short horror films he did in college. They're okay, I guess. So, I hope he can pull off something good.

I love AVGN! I just hope the movie is filled with Rolling Rock, and some really ****** games. ;)

I'm a big AVGN fan and am curious as to what this movie will be like. I'll definitely see it.

Cool! I actually met him in person once. REALLY nice guy when he's not bashing ****** games, lol!

I can't wait for this! I hope a studio picks it up.

I think the Critic should have a cameo.

I hope the movie does well. James Rolfe is tremendously passionate about film and filmmaking, I think Hollywood would be better off if Mr. Rolfe was in it.
