Animaniacs Reboot in Development From Warner Bros., Steven Spielberg

Per a report from TVLine’s sister site IndieWire, Amblin Television and Warner Bros. Animation are in early talks to bring back Animaniacs, the Steven Spielberg-produced cartoon series about three out-of-control children — the Warner Brothers, Wakko and Yakko, along with their sister, Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca the Third. But you can call her Dot.

I'm in favor of this only if it is just the perfect blend of low brow and high brow humor satirical humor with the pop culture references and bits of social commentary done well like the original. I hope it isn't dumbed down at all.

If all that is there, I'm so in.

This won't end well.

This isn't like Roseanne where it is coming back after a reasonably definitive finale, the star became an unbearable Twitter presence, and basically all the kids have ditched acting. I see no reason to believe this is something that won't work.

Are the voice actors still in the game? Looks like. Can they get funny writers on board? I'm sure they can.

If The Simpsons can go 27 years with no signs of stopping, if Kevin Conroy can still pull off Batman, and if there can be like two dozen different iterations of Scooby Doo since that show started, I think this will be fine.

I wish I could hug Spielberg right now. Between this and Ready Player One I'm pretty excited about what he's doing.

They could make references to today's Hollywood culture and probably too, social media.

Oh, they'll definitely have material to work with.

While I would be in favour of keeping the same actors for the Warner siblings, they have a chance to do some revamping of the other characters, bringing in some voice actors known outside animation, like they did with Duck Tales. Like Michael Imperioli, Tony Sirico and Steve Schirripa for the Goodfeathers, or Kristin Chenoweth for Rita.

I only watched for Goodfeathers and Pinky & The Brain. I was never into the 3 main Animaniac kids.

No way even a quarter of the old stuff flys in today's world. Hell once this started trending people were debating if the hello nurse gag was either sexist or not

Yup, exactly what was I referring to.
Best case scenario...The Looney Tunes Show from some years ago

Sadly, we have turned into a bunch of SJW and not for the better since 1993.

I thought this show was so annoying when I was a kid.

only part i liked about the Animaniacs was pinky & the brain!! i liked tiny toons lot better!!

I want to see a new Rita and Runt. If they can't get Bernadette, I vote for Kristin Chenoweth.

The need to update the Presidents Song and Nations of the World.
