They're starting with Ergo Proxy & Tenjho Tenge :word:

If **** goes well for them. I see MTV trying jump back in with their own anime block hour :whatever: Hell, maybe G4 will do the same thing since they're a wannabe MTV/Spike TV :whatever:

Didn't G4 used to have an anime block hour?

Yep. It was called Anime Unleashed. The only real problem they had was the ****ing commercials. They ran commercials every 5 minutes. :cmad: They eventually dropped it for reruns of the Man Show here in the states :whatever: G4 TechTV in Canada still has an anime block hour called Anime Current. Last I heard is that they signed a deal with Geneon to exclusively show their stuff. Lucky Canadians :csad:

Yeah I remember now. I actually think I saw it run a few months ago, but it was just once I think.

The only problem is that Tenjo Tenge is complete and utter garbage. Picked the wrong show there.

Ergo Proxy looks pretty decent though.

It seems to me like Adult Swim is somewhat resentful of anime these days. Even though it's awesome anime that built their reputation, not their heaps of ****ty 15 minute cartoon shows.

Dude, those shows rock. And they have the Venture Bros., which basically trumps most other stuff out there. Learn to respect. :o

I like Venture Bros. too. But I think shows like Perfect Hair Forever, 12 oz. Mouse, Tom, Squidbillies, and eventually Aqua Teens and Sealab are garbage.

Adult Swim would nowhere near be as popular as it is today without some of their anime shows.

Dude, Perfect Hair Forever was PURE awesome. :D

However, Squidbillies was horrible. And nobody understood Tom Goes to the Mayor for it's funnyness. Aqua Teen is totally hit and miss, and Sealab lost being good after Goz passed away.

Well that's what I'm referring to.

I couldn't stand Perfect Hair Forever at all. Aqua Teens was good for a few seasons than it got old. Sealab died with Harry Goz.

Harvey Birdman just got stupid and too random after a while. It nowhere matches the earliest episodes.

I just find Adult Swim's resentment toward anime now funny.

That's what Perfect Hair Forever was. And it was really good, if you saw it for what it was, and just took it with a grain of salt, really.

That's fine, but I still find it atrocious.

Just saying, it seems like Adult Swim/CN is going to have some competition in this department soon, so maybe it will humble them.

I think it's ridiculous they aren't showing Solid State Society considering all the new fans and ratings they got from GITS on Adult Swim. It especially brought in a lot more female viewers to AS according to reports.

Adult Swim will probably do just fine, to tell the truth, due to it's high viewings rate with shows like Futurama and Family Guy showing ALL the time, where this is only on Mondays. I doubt, unless Sci-Fi moves this to a multi-day event, AS/CN will care.

I miss Saturday Night Adult Swim.
All that anime...
I was glued to the set.

I've seen the first 8 or so eps of Ergo Proxy, and I liked it (beautiful animation, confusing story that captivates me).

What's with all these stations airing anime now? (Fuse is a music video station, G4 is a video game station, IFC is an independent film station...yet, they all have anime now).

I like anime, and they've got good anime...but it just sounds out of place to me.

It's quite simple. They air anime because the people that watch their programming are most likely also anime fans. They know their demographic and are simply catering to it.

^^ True, dont know how many of yall have Encore: WAM! but they show two anime shows on their too. 1. Samurai Deeper Kyo and Saiyuki Reload they were also showing some other garbage anime. AS needs to go back to anime because this ***** they're throwing out there is pure trash. Hell Family Guy stopped being funny to me, I watch it and dont even laugh anymore, I know its funny to a degree but im not laughing.

The Starz Networks have been showing anime for years though actually. Nothing new.

I think AS just wants to focus on their dumb original shows and ones by Seth McFarland.
