You know, every time I believe that Hollywood has essentially reached the end of what it could conceivably fashion as a viable idea for a remake, they surprise me with something like this. Well played, Hollywood. Or not. Yeesh.

Private Benjamin really goes south in the second half. There probably is a better movie using the same basic premise than what actually made it out. Not to mention, the Army has changed quite a bit in the last 25 to 30 years.

Not that I have any faith in Hollywood doing something interesting with the project, but at least they're not remaking a bona fide classic.
