Seriously... has this many people not seen any form of the joker before?

So far today..

I've been called..

"What are you supposed to be?"

"Your the crow right?"

"are you supposed to be marylin manson?"

"Who are you sting?"

"Who are you? the mad scientist?"

Very true.....I have no idea where people around here have been. However, I guess I gotta let it slip, TDK only played two weeks here. That Chihuahua movie has been on longer than TDK. :cmad:

"You look like a realy scary clown!"

"Ahh! A clown family!"

"I hate clowns! Stay-stay away. Please."

But my favorite...
"Thats the Joker mom, Duh." :hehe:

yeah, TDK or not though.. the joker is the joker.

should be able to pick me out of a crowd in a second.

Yep, and to the SHHyper that thought I was crazzzzzy for saying that nobody knows this Ledger Joker, this just proves my point, nobody does, it doesnt matter how much money The Dark Knight raked in, guess that is a total of the die hard fans going to see it 100 times:woot: and doesnt include the average family. But yea it gets really annoying but there is at least 1 out of 100 at the events that know who I am so Im happy with that at least.

Oh yea and one person said " Wheres your hat, he wears a hat in the movie" wtf? obviously thinking of Nicholson Joker

This is what I always try to get thru to others. You have to think outside the fanbase. The average person isnt into this like we are. Its just the way things are.

At least the people who write The Office know who the new Joker is. Last night Creed, Kevin and Dwight were all dressed as Joker for the office Halloween party. It was funny.

Thats actualy the most Jokers I've seen in one place, LOL.:oldrazz:

I got a lot of catcalls from people tonight in the city, mostly only from other people dressed as superheroes though. Ordinary folk, not much comment.

My parents wouldn't have known who I was if I hadn't been endlessly talking about it for months.

Here last night we went through the Drive-thru at Sonic, there was a girl, about 20 with one of those waste bins, she was sweaping stuff into it, so as we pulled up, she looked into the car, and quickly looked away. I rolled the window down to talk to her, and she ran off says "I'm sorry, I hate, hate, hate clowns!"

Oh, did I mention I was in make-up and evrything? :oldrazz::cwink:

One of my favourite recognition moments from last night was when a couple friends and I stopped at a strip club that we frequent. As soon as I walked in the door, the DJ announced, "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Joker is in the house." Then he played Steve Miller Band's 'Joker'. I thought it was pretty cool.

If you went dressed as the classic Joker people would have recognized you

I vote that you play him in the next flick

Huh, and I didn't even see one Joker this year. Saw a Batman though with no mask.

I just remembered, when I was walking home tonight - I decided to walk back in full Joker get-up tonight and extend the experiance for an extra day - there was a group of hooded kids who pointed and shouted "Look at the goth freak!" and "Emo boy!"

Makes you despair of the human race. Well, also supplys you with the urge to start jabbing pencils in people's eyes.

Well the Joker does look kind of Emo, and theres a tone of joker merch at Hot Topic. So I can understand why they would say such a thing.

That's not really fair. They're just not fan boys

To the rest of the world, TDK has come and gone

I just despair of the use of those redundant social labels, more so than the not recognising a Joker when they see one. It boggles my mind. But that's my own personal neurosis, I admit.

I think a LOTTTTTT of people are playing it up more like they dont know what the Ledger Joker looks like, especially if the person (joker) did a spot on job, especially the boring people of the world that didnt dress up as anything at all. Out of a room of 200 + people, you cant tell me that most wouldnt recognize a Ledger Joker, its just frustrating when you go to a Halloween party and its filled with non costume dressed popped collar *****ebags at the bar that werent dressed for a HALLOWEEN COSTUME BALL. It was like going to a bar on any given night, they didnt even play THRILLER or MONSTER MASH or ANY halloween themed songs damn it!! I felt like saying "dude its ok, you dont have to play it up like your not into comics in front of your girlfriend, you can at least recognize a Joker when you see one, you dont have to be a die hard fanboy to know what a Joker looks like"

To me, the makeup and green hair would give it away. But if there's still some Bettlejuice confusion, the purple jacket should be a dead giveaway.

I did get called "Beetlejuice" by a parent at an event earlier this week, which was pretty baffling to me. Did he not see any of the TV commercials, movie trailers, or posters all over the place this summer? WTF?

As for competition, I did see 2 other Jokers last night. One was an employee at HMV in the mall wearing the facepaint & a black suit. Not completely screen-accurate, but it looked pretty cool. The other was on his face to the Halloween party at the campus pub. He had pretty sloppy make-up & a black trenchcoat, & gave me a really dirty look as he walked by. I'm unsure as to whether he was just in character or was annoyed that I was the Joker too, with a better costume (and I don't mean to sound like an arrogant prick when I say that, but in the opinion of my friends & my humble self, it was true). Oh, & I also saw a Bank Robbery Joker & a Two-Face. The BRJ wore the adult Rubie's mask, so he looked a bit like a bobblehead. The Two-Face had pretty decent make-up, although the "teeth" extended a bit too far, & the scarring was on the wrong side of his face. Yes, you read that right. I guess he applied his make-up by looking in the mirror, so it would've looked correct then. Also, he didn't wear a suit, just a red shirt & black pants.

Other than making one child burst into tears, my favorite reaction was one kid passing by, tugging on her mom's sleeve, saying "That guy's weird!"

Haven't the faintest idea what she meant...
