so before you The Batman fans start flaming me i want you to know that....THIS IS NOT THE JOKER!!!!! THIS IS THE RESULT OF IDIOTS WHO TRY TO RECREATE BTAS!! THIS IS A JAMACAN CIRCUS CLOWN!!! THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THIS ARE COMPLETE IDIOTS! BTAS WILL NEVER BE REACREATED OR OUTDONE!! BTAS IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE BEST AND TRUEST REPRESENTATION OF BATMAN EVER!!!! (IN ANIMATION AT LEAST) THIS SHOW IS A DISCRACE TO BATMAN!! AND DONT GIVE ME THAT IT'S JUST AN UPDATED VERSION OF BTAS! OR IT'S A CONTINUATION OF BTAS!!! IT'S NOT!! THIS PIECE OF CRAP HAS NO PLACE IN THE BATMAN UNIVERSE! BTAS GOT BATMAN RIGHT!!! JUST LIKE BB GOT HIM RIGHT!! BTAS WAS THE GREATEST REPRESENTATION OF BATMAN IN ANIMATION!! IT GOT BATMAN PERFECT! THE WAY HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE! DARK!! BB AND BTAS ARE THE GREATEST AND MOST FAITHFUL REPRESENTATION OF BATMAN OUTSIDE THE COMICS! THIS IS NOT BATMAN!! THIS IS NOT THE JOKER!!!

i mean lets face it. Mark Hamill IS The Joker!

If they mess up Harley I honestly don't know if I would be able to hate this show anymore. But its not like I care considering I don't watch that garbage.

I didn't say that. Try to refrain from twisting my words. I simply said it's not as bad as people think it is. A lot of the people who hate it only saw the first two crappy seasons. It's far better now. It's nothing compared to B:TAS, but it's not horrible. Doesn't make my eyeballs bleed the minute I turn it on.
not even compared to BTAS this show is horrible!!! it's just puke your guts out awful!!!! this show brings Batman to shame.

wtf? I would rather beat my own balls with a rusty pipe than watch this show.

uh oh. I think I struck a nerve.
i think you might strike more then that.

and would rather see new episodes of BTAS the the batman. just for the reason that "the batman" is just a dumb name for a show.

not because it has crappy animation, crappy storylines, ruins awesome characters, and is just downright a piece of ****?

well there is that but its the name that brings you in and the name just don't do it for me.

Jeez. You guys REALLY need to calm down. This show isn't going to be the end of Batman (if Batman & Robin didn't kill the franchise, this nothing will). Also, the shows ANIMATION (which is completely different from character design) is better than most of what's on TV these days. And Izzy, that story is completely false (Season 2 was better than Season 3 in most people's opinions, anyways).

Anyways, Paul Dini's writing the episode. Considering how highly everyone here seems to regard him, I would have thought the reaction would be a bit less ZOMG!! TIS EPIZOD IZ TEH SUK!!!11!!111!1!11111eleven!!

It's not like they had any other name choices. "Batman" kind of would be too short "Batman the Animated Series" was taken. Kids are too stupid to know what a cartoon titled "The Dark Knight" would be about. Kind of left "The Batman" as the only choice.

"Batman: Wired" was the original title, but was scrapped, obviously. See? You probably thought it couldn't be worse, but it almost was.

-- END!

Same here. Strange. :o

While it's no B:TAS, it's a fine enough show on its own, I've found it to be a darker, straighter version of the 60's show mixed with Post-Crisis (COIE Crisis, not Infinate) interpetations (the first part of the first season finale was pretty much TKJ slightly toned down) and some new, modern-day ideas.

I have yet to watch The Batman, I think the most I saw of it was a bit of the pilot they had at a booth in Comic Con 2 years back.

I really don't see what's wrong with this show. When I first saw a commercial for it, I basically laughed. It was called The Batman, as if there are other Batmans out there and theirs is THE Batman. Secondly, I don't like the look of the costume. Straight out, I just don't like it.

BUT! I actually sat down and watched an episode that had the Joker in it (him being my second favorite Batman Villain next to the Riddler), and I found myself enjoying it quite a bit. If you would just get over the look of Batman and other characters, you could learn to love the show. I think it's got pretty good writing, top notch animation, and it's just a good show. You people who take one look at the Joker and go, "Jamaica mon? Screw this!" need to get over yourselves and watch the show. First off, that's a little racist since not all people from Jamaica look like that (especially the white skin and green hair heh just kidding). Secondly, if you never learn to accept change then you are going to be stuck living in the 90s, which isn't a fully good thing (Spice Girls anyone?). I mean, look at Batman Begins, which you seem to praise in your post. Did the suit look like it did in B:TAS? No. Did that movie suck? NO (well the majority opinion is no it did not suck at least).

Overall, you people really need to be more open minded and give the show a chance. Now, to you people who have watched a few of the episodes of the show and still don't like it, this isn't aimed to you. I can't change your personal tastes. I just really hate when people diss this show based on how Batman or the Joker looks. Just give it a chance people!

this show has potential to be good. and sometimes i have really enjoyed it. other times... not so much.

i would also like to add that the best characterization of batman in animated form is batman in justice leauge/JLU... i think the Timm camp really got it right in terms of animation and storytelling with JL/JLU. BTAS was groundbreaking but something about it was still a bit short of greatness.
