Drama Another Miami Vice film coming with Joseph Kosinski directing

*Waits patiently for Into the Miami Vice-Verse with Don Johnson, Philip Michael Thomas, Jamie Foxx, Colin Farrell, MBJ and Powell* :o

Better yet, take a JJ Abrams Star Trek approach.

Crockett was driving so fast while listening to Phil Collins that he went back and disrupted the timeline. MBJ gets into a jam and Don Johnson saves him.

“I have been, and always shall be, your friend.”

This could have been another Starsky and Hutch or 21 Jump Street.

While I'm not expecting this to be on the level of those in terms of humor, I do at least think that with MBJ and Powell starring this will be much lighter than the Michael Mann version.

MBJ and Powell should be a great pair. Very interested in what Kosinski does with this, as someone who really doesn't care much for Mann's movie.

I’ve never seen the original series before. Going to have to give that a watch.

Saw the film at 10 years old in 2006. Don’t remember much, tbh.

S01 to S03 are great, especially S01. S04 and S05 made me lose interest. I think it's because Micheal Mann left, they brought in Dick Wolf to helm the last two seasons, and it didn't hit the same.

Powell gives off more Texas cowboy confidence to me, not necessarily South Beach cool confidence, but I think he'll be fine as Sonny.

I'm hoping Mike rocks the S curl in this one.

Kosinski's style fits in well with this world, also the director is a big fan of the show and Michael Mann. I'm curious to see what he's gonna do. Michael B. Jordan is officially in talks to play Tubbs now.

Not a fan of MBJ as an actor -- he's very one note to me. But he would be okay as Tubbs.

A BIG no to Powell as Crockett. He doesn't have the effortless swagger of Don Johnson, and he just comes off as a typical gym bro. I don't think Butler is a perfect fit either, but he's a better choice than Powell.

I still hope it leans more comedic than the Michael Mann version. Butler's got the chops. He was lowkey hilarious in Dune 2. :o

I just hope they don't have someone cover "In The Air Tonight" because we have a bunch of non-singers these days.

Leave the classic alone. :o

Since it seems to be Kosinki's project all the way through, I'd be surprised if it isn't more of a crowd pleaser than hard boiled cop drama.

Can we get a NY Undercover remake btw? That was essentially the Miami Vice of the 90s.
