What do you think, Hatter was always an intellectual that chose to escape into a fantasy world, and Hopkins is scary as Hell.

My pick for The Mad Hatter is Geoffrey Rush. Few people can pull off sleazy and creepy like he can.

Personally, he scares the crap out of me.

Mad Hatter isn't tall and fat, nothing against Hopkins he's fine actor also he turned down chance to play Alfred who was my first choice but I could see him as Calendar Man who's kinda of Hannibal Lecter type that character was played by Hopkins.

He'd be perfect for Calender Man. And Anthony Hopkins is not that tall BTW, Two Face.

That being said, Rush IS The Mad Hatter.

I agree 100% with this post.

Another person I could see as The Mad Hatter would be Andy Serkis.

Serkis is a great choice as well. He was awesome as Gollum. I can totally see him in the role.

My TOP FIVE picks for The Mad Hatter are:

1) Geoffrey Rush

2) Tim Curry

3) Andy Serkis

4) Brad Dourif (though I'd prefer him for Jeremiah Arkhum)

5) Martin Short

Curry and Dourif would be great also.

Some other names:

Rhys Ifans

Mackenzie Crook

He's always been a dead ringer for the BTAS version of the Hatter. I can't say I would mind him if he played the role.

I've heard their names mentioned but I've never seen them act. What have they been in?

Also, after much thought, I'm replacing Short with Robert Englund.

I could see Robert Englund as Dr Akham as well.

Kelsey Grammer for the Mad Hatter IMO. Sure he is Beast - however the make up makes any comparison hard to notice - it would be like using Alan Cummings for a role in a DC movie.

Rhys Ifans was in Notting Hill with Hugh Grant.

There are a few actors IMO who can do Dr. Arkhum.

My Top 3 (well, 4, technically) for Jeremiah Arkhum.

1) James Cromwell or Brad Dourif

2) John Hurt

3) Christopher Walken (he was in Batman Returns, so he won't get it, but I think he'd be great)

Well, I've never put him into consideration for the role, Grammer would probably work as well. He could probably pull off The Riddler as well.

James Cromwell would be perfect if he wasn't in Spider-Man 3.

People really need to get over this "He was already in a comic movie" thing.

I agree to an extent. Since General Stacy and Dr. Arkhum are not major characters, I wouldn't mind seeing Cromwell in both roles. If they're not playing two mega important characters (ie, like Jackman as Wolverine and Two-Face), that's different.

Exactly, I can see problems with having an actor play a role in two DC or Marvel films- but outside of that I dont see a big deal. When people in Hollywood look for an Italian Gangster, they look for Pacino or Deniro - if they can surive doing two similar films, playing similar roles, I think any actor can.

There are some great names on this list, but there is another name I'd like to throw in "the hat"(sorry), and that's Gene Wilder. I know he might be too old, but he does crazy, intelligent, and funny just as good as anybody out there.

Also, he looks the part, and we've all seen him in a ridiculous top hat... :o
