Any high school athletes in the house?

Highschool I played football in the fall and baseball in the spring, though freshman year I played fall baseball and later asked to come back to football.

...I was offered a baseball scholarship to a small school, but opted to go to Penn State instead...we have an intramural football team and I played in a twilight baseball league for my first 3 summers of college.

Wrestling is not gay! That belief is really starting to tick me off. Sure you can be immature and look at it and say "Two guys on top of each other, that can only mean one thing...", or you can see it for what it really is. The truth is that it is probably amongst the hardest one-on-one sports there are. If you can't throw a good half-nelson or cradle, you need to be quick on you're feet to think of something else to use to pin the guy.

This winter will be my second year wrestling, and I'll probably be going either 171 or 189. I don't do a fall sport, but I do Track and Field in spring (specifically Discus and shot-put).
you may not think that now, but you'll get so sick of it it'll turn you white:daredevil

I was on my wrestling team sophmore year. Since I instantly lost 10 pounds whenever I took off my prostetic, I would be used wherever we needed someone between 119-145, though I generally stayed between 125-135. I was really good for a rookie, but I rarely won anything because, as luck would have it, everytime I got to the mat, I ended up facing someone who won state or has been wrestling since they were 2. :(

Ain't that the truth.

Other than football, I ran Track, and was damn good at it, if I might say so myself.

I was a sprinter and hurdler, and even threw in some long jumping here and there. It was what I was best as and what I was know for, much more so than football. I miss it a lot today.

played football as a fullback n outside linebacker in high school....little d-end when i was a senior, but only due to a players injury.

also played guard in basketball and attack in lacrosse.

If you can remember, what was your record? I went 6-10 last year, but still made it to sectionals. My team is lucky, though. Our coach wrestled for the same team about 10 years ago, and won states a couple times and New England once, I think.

Not to use it as an excuse, but we were a young team, which led to a final record of 3-12. I believe we only had two or three guys with a year or more experience on the varsity team at any time.

Played left guard and defensive tackle in highschool 16 years ago.

It REALLY wasn't very good. :(

Ran track throughout my high school career... I ran distance, usually in the 100m, 200m, and 400m (sometimes) races.

Almost did soccer, and was interested in ice hockey.

I had (and still have) a medical condition called costochondritis and that very much screwed up my involvements in track and field events.

But I was into badminton, fencing and archery for the varsity squad when I was doing my degree. Not so much badminton, but more on the other two, especially archery.

I miss them. I wish I have the strength and time to jump back in.
