Watching a Sam Raimi film this week got me all nostalgic for one of the best television shows that he and Rob Tapert created for us:

Any other Xena lovers on the board? Favorite episodes, favorite scenes, favorite fights? Things you didn’t like or wish we had gotten to see?

This show doesn’t get talked about enough anymore.

I love Xena. It definitely deserves more respect on it's name.

Callisto is one of the best tv villains in history. Going through her journey of innocent corrupted by the sins of Xena to her ultimate redemption is one of my favorite storylines.

I do wish the Eve storyline played out better. Xenas daughter being raised and turning out to be a villain is a good storyline but it wasn't written as well as it could've been. Her redemption was horrible and making her into this pacifist who just wallows around was hard to watch.

Would be nice if we could get a good remaster of the series and i wouldn't be opposed to a reboot with the right team.

This and Hercules: The Legendary Journey's are easily some of the most underrated shows of all-time and Lucy Lawless deserved to be a much bigger star than she was IMO.

I always loved her physicality and screen presence/charisma and she would have been a great choice to play Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in the early 2000's.

The costumes on this show....also top notch. This was a syndicated show giving us better outfits than some movies and tv shows with more money.

Oh friend, Calisto’s whole arc was so well done. Will always love “Fallen Angel” for that exchange between she and Xena.

To this day I still have mixed feelings about Eve. Such a hypocrite that her daughter could be redeemed but she didn’t even give Hope a chance lol.

Loved the show and Lucy was a great lead. For some reason I always seem more drawn to the sidekick on these types of shows (like Willow on Buffy).

Renee was awesome as Gabrielle and the costume designers took every opportunity to show off her abs, which were probably the best on TV at the time.

It could be argued that Xena's regret over Hope is a reason why she fought so hard for Eve. lol probably not but....idk...Xena/Gabs miracle pregnancies were very opposite of one another and Hope was killing since she was a child.

That is also one part of the series I wish was slightly stronger....the crossovers. The Dahak storyline starts in Xena, ends in Hercules. Notmuch mention in Xena of his death and X/G don't really crossover to help destroy Gabbys baby daddy.

I watched Xena and Hercules every Saturday afternoon in HS back in the 90s.
They aired on KTLA 5 here in Los Angeles back in the mid 90s.

I used to have a crush on Hudson Leick who played Calisto .
Yeah, her character was a bad girl, but I thought the actress was sooo pretty .

Xena was also the first place I saw Melinda Clarke, and I also thought she was stunning.

The 90s rocked.:word:.

The show really started going up, when Xena and Gabrielle travelled to India. This and the storyline with the ides of march, when Xena and Gabrielle were crucified and died.

As far as I know Renee O'Connor hasn't said or done anything Sorboish either.

Every single word of this is exactly how I feel. I used to love watching the show (and Hercules) with my children. Lucy Lawless is easily the best Wonder Woman we've never had. And Hudson Leick's Calisto was an absolute goddess!.
