The abuse I suffered was emotional and psychological-- unintentional from my parents, intentional from my peers. That probably describes a huge percentage of the people on these forums.
People with that kind of background aren't necessarily accepted in spite of their difficulties even when other people know about it. I think that should change, that people should be more understanding with each other, but whether that knowledge will allow people to be accepted, I don't know. I would hope so.
