Anyone else not like kids?

Spoons...you have a new mission should you choose to accept it.

I remember as a kid saying that I would probably adopt a kid as an adult. Then I thought some more and said maybe adopt a teenager. Then I thought maybe a 20 year old but then realized that they would be too old to adopt by then.

You've clearly never watched Batman Forever.:cwink:

Can i ask whats your reason for not wanting children, and what makes you so sure when you get older you wont change your mind?

I dislike bad kids, but I dislike their parents even more.....

As for having kids of my own that's not in the near future for me at all...

They will change your life.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

I'm with this guy. I used to be totally anti-kid. I'd make it a conscious effort to avoid my sisters kids when I'd visit. But two years ago on August 8th, I had twins and my heart totally melted. I love my kids and am not as opposed to their presence now as I once was.

Some of the reasons are personal, so I'd rather not share them all, but children do not fit into what I want out of life. I want to get married, but I want to enjoy my time with my husband. I want to be able to focus on my career and travel at will. I see pros and cons to having kids, but for me, the cons outweigh the pros. I've given it many years of thought, and I don't see myself changing my mind just because I'll be getting older. I have zero desire to go through pregnancy and to raise a child. I've never wanted kids. I'd like to be an aunt, but definitely not a mother. I'll babysit my friends' or relative's kids, but the nice part will be giving them back afterwards :oldrazz:

My wife and I tried for a baby for over three years (surgeries, needles, drugs, etc). My wife finally got pregnant and we had our little boy this past summer. Finally getting to seeing that little guy made everything we went through seem like nothing, it was soooo worth it.

He's now 6 months old and a blast. I can not wait to get home from work and see him everyday. There are rough days (and nights), but they don't seem to matter much.

Having said all of this ... If you're not a kid person, it's probably not for you. You're perspective on things can always change, though.

I like the little kids. But they're so ****ing loud!

I'm sure if I ever have kids of my own that opinion will change though :o

I work in a retail store , and in a span of 2 months 9 female employees fell pregnant. I too have no idea why women want babies so much.

People want kids like Gizmo in a chinese relic shop. Cute and cuddly until you feed them after midnight and splash em with water.

oh and kids wake you up 7 AM every day...EVERY DAY!

To paraphrase Patton Oswalt, I'm gonna have an invisible baby and name it ten hours of sleep a night.

Exactly. They are cute for a while...but every day? It would get old real quick.

There are a lot of kids I deal with at my job. For the most part I despise them. But there always a few that come along who are kind and actually use their brain. But other then that 90% of what I see lie, steal, and destroy everything. I'd like to have a kid one day just so I could try my best to raise them to be respectable individuals. I think about being a dad. I'd like a daughter one day perhaps. But right now I'm all about helping animals. They're truly innocent. Not kids. Not people. Ever.

The only thing I hate about kids is that I don't have any. But they rank among the top 5 things I love the most in this world. One of my fondest memories happened 8 years ago, I came home from work pissed off at someone, and this Chinese lady and her 2 kids (a girl and a boy) were practicing their dance lessons in front of me at this cafe. They wouldn't stop looking at me as I tried to hide the contempt I was feeling towards my employee. The little girl asked me if I wanted to see the new dance she learned, and I was like whatever. She was so cute and happy, now I remember feeling like a jerk for being angry at that employee. I never thought it was possible to feel that happy inside.

I bet kids taste better than their parents do
