I just read it. Very quick read, art was great, but the story seemed to be interesting but by the end I am left with more questions...
Mainly... If Burbank created the virus, why is Fury being part of the blame?
I thought that they were using Reed as a scapegoat to release the virus.
What did Reed/Fury/Doom do to the Squadron Supreme Universe other than sending a probe?
Why did the probe that went to the original SS universe lead to the new SS universe and not the Ultimate U?
And most importantly, what is the Serpent Crown?

i read it, here my answers,f eature approved as he does not read the book:

fury is in the squadron surpreme universe as of now, standint rial for his crimes, naimly interdimensional espionage (with the help of doom, as reed used his devices to communicate but with doom reprogramming the devices to substract data from the dimension adn send it to shield, its basically spionage).

since doom is a robot in the book, he cannot be held responsible. burbank created the virus and used the device of reed as scapegoat, as you said.

the probe did not went from the ss universe to the nss universe, but reed send his probes into many universes, one into the ss universe aswell. so the other ss were basically in the same situation as the up ss, but when wanda created her time rift, they split, thus sharing their fate.

the sepernt crown is/was a mystical relic of some old tribe AFAIK. but it has not real power whatsoever in the ultiamte universe, thus far...

Really enjoyed this book, AND it leads to Ultimatum and Ultimate Secret, which both look awesome

what does spidey have to do with this?

Abandon all hope ye who try to make sense of Ultimate Power.

oh the first post sounded like the thread was in the wrong forum

That's what I am starting to think.
The book's conclusion seemed weird.

What's the big deal with Fury altering those probes? Instead of the info going to the baxter building it went to SHEILD first... Why do the SS even care? What's the difference?

What was Fury's plan in the first place? Did he know about the virus? Or did he just suspect he had something to do with it? Was his plan just to rescue Reed and get out of there?

Why was Spider-Man even included in this story? I had a hard time believing that Fury would have even considered bringing Pete to another universe, until he is part of the Ultimates, and especially when he had Doom and Hulk along for the ride.

Why didn't Burbank get poisoned like Reed? Sure he had the nose plugs but.... He was still breathing thru his mouth wasn't he?

Yeah, sorry. After posting I figured maybe I should post this in the Marvel Comics forum.
Although like I said in the previous post, It didn't seem Spidey belonged in the book in the first place.

then allow me to be of assistance
could a mod please move this to the marvel comics forum?

This is why you dont have 3 writers writing the same arc of a book. It ends up not really making much sense.

but it made sense? whats wrong with you people, it made perfect sense. read the TPB or whatever, just read it in a rwo and it makes sense.

and it gets even more explained in ultimate secrets (another handbook)

ultimate hulk vs, wolverine, ultimates 2 finale, ultimate clone saga, ultimate power, in that order. (according to the ultimate secrets handbook)

with that in mind, it cannot really be too hard to understand???

I wouldnt even count Ultimate Hulk vs Wolverine...at least not till that lazy bastard finishes it.

And no one here is confused about the continuity. We just dont understand what "crime" Fury had commited.

maybe the courts on the ss earth consider him an illegal alien as well as a spy

qute from ultimate secrets:
Nick recieved an artificial arm to replace the one lost in the Liberators invasion. Earth 31916s Squadron Surpreme blamed hin for their worlds devastation and kept him there for punishment.

if you read the end of ultimate power, you realize why. reed states that burbank contacted doom and told him about his plans. since fury worked with doom, they think he knew aswell.

Yeah, and it was a VERY grey area Fury was treading. Even if he wasn't fully aware of their full plans, he's not stupid enough to think that they ain't up to something.

Although, he probably thought that he could stop them and failed.

Also, don't forget, this is supposed to lead up to something huge... So perhaps there's a lot mkore to meets the eye.

Why?

Spider-Man is a lead/key character in this book, not to mention the books (Ultimate Secret/Ultimatum,) that this leads to.

Not only that, it's all going shed a lot of light on U Spidey's full backstory/origin

So... When do Ultimate Secret and Ultimatum come out?

So... When do Ultimate Secret and Ultimatum come out?

ultimate secret is out since 2 years
if you mean ultiamte secrets, the handbook, its out since three weeks.
ultimatum starts with ultimate origin somewhen this year, probably summer.
