Anyone else think Nightwing could take Batman

uh..batman taught nightwing everything nightwing knows..but not everything he knows.im sure nightwing has his own moves, but ill take bats anyday.

Exactly, Batman has a plan to defeat anyone, even his friends, even though Nightwing would some day be stronger, more agile than him etc. he would still have something up his sleeve that could take him out.

Yes. In this issue, Bane rolled all over Nightwing with relative ease, however, Batman defeated Bane quite soundly.

To be honest, the only match Batman won (as far as I can remember) was the re-match after Knightfall. The other battles seem always to be a draw.

do people think dick could take on marvel equivalents like daredevil or captain america?

Hmmm, maybe DareDevil. I'd love to see that.

That's fine, but Bruce still managed a win against Bane, which is more than Nightwing has.

Bats has a plan to take down everone including nightwing. Nightwing is good but he's more trusting than Bats an while he's prolly thought what it would take to bring down Batman i don't think he's actually come up with a plan

Dick > Jason > Tim

I think it would be structured this way, using drive as a basis. It's Batman's will that makes him such a hero in the DCU. Dick, like Bruce, saw his parents murdered. However, his grief was softened because he was brought into Bruce's world.

Jason's drive was planted by Talia when she informed him that he remained unavenged. Combined with his already aggressive "street" upbringing, he's pretty formidable.

Tim has NOTHING. He has a terrible origin story. "Batman needs a Robin!" Lame lame lame LAME. This current Titans Tomorrow arc that sets him up to be a screwed up Batman is actually perfect. He's never had the drive, so it's believable for him to be morally corrupted. These writers that say he has the ability to surpass Bruce are awful and should be ignored.

Um, why? Because lets be honest, they know more about the character than us.

Jason was an awful Robin in the post-crisis DCU. Your argument for him being a good Robin is based on his life after Robin, and therefore is null.

I liked the pre-crisis Jason Todd Robin. Sure, he was a rip-off Dick Grayson but somehow he was still unique. And it made Killer Croc so cool. I've never understood why they didn't eradicate Killer Croc in the first crisis. And why they used Bane, who is almost the same character.

I think it was about using a new nemesis, someone who Batman had never encountered before. Some of the story I got was that Batman underestimated Bane a lot. Hence hen he came back and fought him it was a more satisfying victory.

Didn't Batman state in a recent comic-book that Tim was getting better than Dick ever was? I could be mixing things up, though. Anyways, I doubt Dick could take Bruce, he may one day be better physically, but Bruce would outsmart him any day, there's a reason this guy can wipe the floor with Superman, and it's not physical.

He can't wipe the floor with Superman. In Hush Batman says himself "Clark could turn me into paste in a second with his Super speed if he wanted to."

If Superman ever cut lose, then Batman would be in big troubble. Not to mention anyone else that got in Supes way.

Cap vs. Bats would be a heck of a fight, so I don't think Dick could take cap. DD on the other hand would be interesting to see. They have very simmilar fighting styles.

Right. Some people don't get it. There is actually no reason why Superman should fight Batman and when he did (mindcontrol ...) he didn't unleash his full power.

1st let me start by saying this, no way in a fair fight does dick ever beat bruce.

bat's would at the very least hold his own, because he fights dirty, he's not going to come at superman head on, that would be stupid. for the best examples of how a bat's supe's fight would go down, look at DKR (where he sets tons of traps and gets help from GA) or the new frontier extras book (where he uses a ton of traps and the only thing that stops them from killing each other is WW)

Exactly, the only way Bruce has ever beaten Superman is with tricks and traps, and after Superman has had his energy severely depleted. One on one, Superman would own Batman.

i have often wondered about Nightwing... I mean he has all the training FROM Batman....

& i dunno... I mean if he's as good as Batman when he fights villians on the street, WHY CAN'T HE AT LEAST MATCH HIS MENTOR ???????????

I MEAN NIGHTWING IS A VERY COOL CHARACTER... the suit looks cool & his whole demeanor... i mean he's angry & moody... something he never was as Robin!

That's why T. Drake is a better Robin, because he's not some happy go lucky smiling crimefighter... He HAS ATTITUDE THAT DICK NEVER HAD AS ROBIN...

You should read the Wolfman/Perez run on The New Teen Titans.

Robin isn't about attitude, as Jason Todd so helpfully illustrates.
