Hey guys.I was wondering if any of who have one at home and if so, can you tell me about his/her behavior, diet, and other things about them. The reason why I asked is b/c I'm thinking about getting one. Most likely for adoption. Not sale

I've never owned one as a pet, but I've worked with them at the zoo I worked at. Very aggressive as a rule, quick as lightning and they love to make a mess with whatever you feed to them. I don't recommend them for someone who's new to reptiles. What's your experience?

Make your anole lizard about six feet long and give him teeth that are like steak knives and you've got a monitor lizard.
**** that, I'll just irradiate him and teach him to blow fire and grow 20 Metres.

I've always wanted a lizard or a snake, but my mom was to afraid of them. I'd get one now, but I'm not allowed to have pets in my house, except for fish.
I'd get another rodent, but I'm not sure if I can. I'd get a rat, or maybe a ferret.

Oh and someone I forgot to mention that you need to go to the ER if it bites you. Monitor lizards have saliva that's riddled with bacteria, a bite can become gangrenous if you don't watch it.

Odd, most places that have "no pets allowed rules" have the common sense to allow reptiles. It's not like a snake barks or pisses on the rug. :whatever:

I'm not sure about the rules though. And I'm not sure I could feed a snake a live mouse or rat. I know it's the way of nature and the circle of life and all that stuff, it just makes my heart sink if I see it.
Are there Veggie Snakes? I know there are veggie lizards, my friend had an iguana that only ate veggies.
I do have this dresser that has nothing on it...hmm...decisions, decisions.

If you think seeing a snake eat a rodent is bad try a monitor lizard, they don't neatly strangle and swallow, they tear to shreds.

No, all snakes are carnivorous.

I wasn't sure if there was a special breed or anything.
I'm probably better off getting another gerbil. I tend to have good luck with them. The last one I had lived for 4 years.
I might get a rat. I heard ferrets are hassle.

What kind of turtle do you have? :yay:

He's a three-toed box turtle.

Mein Turtlegruppein?

Seriously though, he has legs and arms, its okay to see him piss, a snake on the other hand.. I don't even think they can piss.

My husband calls him 'SchildkroetenGesicht,' and says it to him every time he walks by.
Arms and legs make pissing ok?

Ferrets are sneaky little bastards, and they're illegal in several states.
