I have to be honest, i was hyped for the system at first, but I've come to realize that i really feel nintendo is being cheap with us.yeah, you get a new controller, i still find it intriguing, but i don't feel satisfied with the console itself. The wii channals are really corny, forecast?news? like i cant use my regular tv channals for that. and the mii channal is pretty lame. features that i certainly can live without us. I've just really become underwelmed with it.

how about you guys?

I'm still very excited. Just as long as I get my first party Nintendo games, I'm good. November 19 is too far away. (well not really)

Um....then don't use them. I doubt I'll use the Wii Channels much myself, other than to store games off of Virtual Console I download.

BUT

I still will PLAY THE GAMES which is what it was made for. I mean who cares if the Wii Channels are lame, just don't use them. You still get great IP first party games and an amazing controller that very well may put Nintendo back near the top. The motion control I think is going to be a runaway hit.

So you are underwhelmed by the lame features added to attract new non-gamers....so, you can still enjoy the great games and new ingenious controller though.

Im not satisfied with Wii cause I don't have it yet (replying to topic title). Hype wise, im more excited for wii, then my wedding.

thats the thing, we know zelda, mario, brawl, and metroid are coming out. but im concerned, that nintendo won't produce anymore new IP's.

er...how can you not be satisfied if you don't even have one yet...

I don't get that:confused:

the question itself doesn't make sense...

:down

i'd understand how you could no longer be hyped but to be not satisfied with something you'v never owned is an impossibility

I don't get how you think Nintendo's being cheap, but the only thing you listed is them adding additional features (that you don't eve have to touch).

I wouldn't know. I don't have one yet.

hell no. there the only company breaking away from the norm. look at the nintendo ds... at first, sure it had some boring games, then mariokart, nintendogs and metroid hit, along with other big games like brain age.

they got great games for launch and more on the way. so far i am very happy with nintendo and cant wait till november 19

I won't be fully satisfied until I see what games they will have for their system down the line.

Here are the games I will be getting:

Twilight Princess (another Zelda game)
Metroid Prime 3 (another MP game)
Call Of Duty 3 (a game that's on the other consoles)
Far Cr (on the other consoles)

For now, that is all. I'm badly hoping that Wii will in the future have NEW games that can match what the other consoles have.

Games like Assassin's Creed and Alan Wake, watching the clips of those has made me realize it's not just about pretty graphics for the 360 and PS3. Their consoles can push games further, make them do so much more. Whereas the Wii, you have an innovative controller. But the 360 and PS3 will have far superior online gaming.

I am worried about the Wii. I'm worried it will fall behind once the hype of it's controller dies down.

i really dont think the hype will die. as long as they put out games that stretch your imagination and make the controller fun to play with. alot of people said that same thing about the DS. now look at it. i hate to keep using the nintendo DS reference but this game nintendo the balls to take a shotlike this with a home system. and if it works out like the DS. they have a huge hit on there hands.

Don't have any friends? :csad:

I think the Wii Channels are a brilliant idea with flawless execution. They allow easy access from the comfort of your own living room couch or bedroom. And if the Opera browser is as good as people have been saying, I doubt I'll use my computer for internet again. I'll have the wealth of the internet blown up on my widescreen TV, and what's more, I'll be able to visit the SHH! to exchange friend codes, organize Nintendo DS matches, organize Wii matches, or generally talk about the Wii in general and zip back to my Wii games in a snap. I won't have to wait for my computer to boot up or wait until my mother, father, sister, or brother are done using the internet.

The weather and news channels are an added bonus that will do more to become the centerpiece of your family and help to attract non-gamers to at least handle the Wii-remote. My parents are extremely technologically-handicapped; it took me several months for me to teach them how to use the search bar. But they've progressed modestly, and they have been able to at least check current events on several news sites. If the Wii News Channel is efficient, I have no doubt they will use it. The Wii Weather Channel is a different story; I live in a mediterranean climate under which the weather doesn't change all that much year-round. But I've been watching videos of the Wii Weather Channel in action, and it looks very impressive; we'll probably keep track of the weather in the towns of our distant relatives in other countries. When I wake up in the morning, I'll take a look at the current news, and later see if my relatives are suffering under the hot Mexican sun. I can see my parents doing the same. And maybe, just maybe, they'll make that jump and play some Wii Sports Golf or Boxing with me. But I think that in order for this to happen, the Wii console will have to be in the living room where the parents of the household can see what's going on.

And the Mii Channel, I think, is extremely fun. Making digital caricatures of your friends, family, and Samuel L. Jackson are a hilarious feature that will no doubt become a hit among Wii console owners. I think you can also personalize the Miis even further by jotting down a profile (this will no doubt be handy in trying to store all the friend codes of your rivals*) And I become giddy when I think about waking up in the morning and finding a a new Mii mingling with my other Miis. Maybe it was the person I played online last night! You can also transfer your Miis onto your Wii-remote and take them over to your friend's house and populate his lobby with your Mii. And of course, the Miis can also populate you're games.

The Wii Message Board Channel is the one with the most possibilities in my opinion. But there hasn't been much information on it yet.

These Wii Channels are further testament to Nintendo's philosophy of innovation and "bringing gaming back to the masses." You know, it's really easy for me to ask someone to play some Mario Kart, Mario Party, or Super Smash Brothers with me, even if that person has never played a game before. This is not the case with other consoles. The interface and concept of the game is too intimidating for the casual or non-gamer. I can't ask them to play some Halo with me because it turns them off.

So am I satisified with the Wii? Absolutely.

*It has been recently reported that the Wii online system will utilize friend codes, but players will have a universal friend code that will not change from game to game.

The Wii is shaping up to be the best next-gen console.

-Twilight Princess
-Metroid Prime 3
-Resident Evil : Umbrella Chronicles
-Super Smash Bros Brawl
-Mario Galaxy
-Swords Of Legendia
-Red Steel
-Fire Emblem
-Sonic
-Excite Trucks
-Sadness

Combine those with the ultra-innovative controller and low price and you got the next-gen winner.

I don't think you know what you're talking about. If you want an example of more of the same, look no further than the Xbox 360 and PS3. If you're looking for new IP's than maybe you have a point, but Nintendo has reported that new ones are indeed on their way. But the current Nintendo IP's constantly re-invent themselves and create new experiences of gaming.

I'll take a sequel of Zelda over a new new IP any day.

The system will die if it doesn't get good new games.

Of course it's getting new games. Do you expect EVERYTHING to be announced months before the console is even released?

I expect the same usual Nintendo stuff. I hope I'm proved wrong. It has the potential to be a great little system. I just don't expect anything on the level of Assasin's Creed or Alan Wake. Plus, I don't think the Wii can compete as far as online gaming is concerned.

There's gonna be a PoP for Wii so already there's something like Assassin's Creed. MS's online service will probably be the best, but Nintendo's will better than Sony.

What's POP?

As for Assassin's Creed. The graphics look exhilerating and from a visual stand point it is a new high mark, however the gameplay sounds so forced in trying to be "realistic" it sounds like quite a bore.

What's POP by the way?

Like how the SNES died with Super Mario World, the N64 died with Ocarina of Time, and the Gamecube died with Super Smash Bros? :(

Eh? Is that sarcasm, because SNES won its console war and N64 did extremely well, even if Playstation sold more.

And for the record Prince of Persia and Assassins Creed are two very different things and POP is on all consoles. I was never a big fan of them though and Asassins Creed while visually stunning I think is going to be a bore to play, but will sell well because graphics tend to sell better than gameplay sometimes.
