APPLICATION: Future Marvel RPG

So the Illuminati (Including "That Blasted Richards") were Skrulls then? I'm sorry I don't keep up with current Marvel comics as often as I should. Or are the Illuminati just dead? I have a great story in mind if Richards is dead.

And everyone always plays as heroes, and I always end up picking up the villain tab in every RPG, if that's something I have to do here, then I can live with that I guess. Which characters in this RPG are gonna be pretty necessary(either in PC or massive inferance and NPC'ing)?

If I choose a hero, Ghost Rider is looking a pretty good bet, but due to the time frame, There would probably be a new GR by then.

Anyway, Kaboom, give me a few bits an pieces o backstory you want me to work on, and I'll do it, much like the 'manorians' in the future RPG, I wrote about 10 pages(didn't post it all) from just 2 sentences

I have reserved Victor Von Doom, who is, in this time frame, definitely a 'walk the line' type figure. Doom is going to do things for both good and evil. So I got the Villain side covered slightly.

By the way, just to refresh my memory, Vulcan was Scott Summers other brother was he not? Gabriel Summers?

the reason the skrulls chose they illuminati were because they are basically in control of every super powered resistance the skrulls would come up against and because they were in the posession of the infinty gems.

The people I invision having died on the first day of the take over are cyclops, emma frost, jean grey (but shes already dead), ms. marvel, luke cage, gorgon, sue storm, wong.

only because those are the people who would most likely have opposed the illuminati and who would have needed to have been "purged"--think star wars and the jedi purge.

which is also why civil war was instigated, to give the heroes an opportunity to off themselves before the main invasion.

My thoughts are that Vulcan should return in the last post of season I.

However, what I think would make this awesome, is if we make this a 2 or 3 character rpg, the alternative character must be from the shi'ar/vulcan story.

As for hulk, i invision him as a kind of like a protector of Africa, thats always around but never seen. if someone wants to PC him though, i suppose thats fine.

The problem with the Vulcan arc, is that there may not be enough characters to go around for people in it.

By the way, all my modern marvel knwoledge comes from the hype, so I'm a little out of touch, classic marvel i smore my thing, so a lot of this stuff will take me a while to learn etc.

I'm in the same boat, nowadays I only really keep up with The Ultimates. (The book not the whole Universe)

I kinda keep up with ultimates universe, but I stick to reading classic things now, mainly hellblazer and hellboy are my two main reads at the mo, good stuff.

Anyhow, my knowledge of current marvel :

Illuminati, and the whole situation with them and the hulk etc etc.

I have no real idea about x-men and i briefly read some of civil war.

I'm going to pick up annhialation soon though, looks like on eof the best major marvel arcs in years.

The day everything changed:

Nobody saw it coming. There were rumblings of course. Jessica drew brought the first body in. She was the first to find out. Unfortunately she brought the body to Tony Stark, Director of SHIELD. What she didn't know was that he was also a skrull.

It happened quickly after that. The Illuminati revealed themselves destroying everyone who could serve to over throw them while they were continuing their subterfuge.

Scott Summers. Emma Frost. Nathan Summers. Wong. Ms. Marvel. Luke Cage. Gorgon. Susan Storm.

It was intially thought that the Illuminati had protected us from the Skrull invasion by blaming the recently deceased . Little did we know, it was the Illuminati themselves that were the Skrulls. When the entire fleet arrived, we never knew it was coming.

We fought back as long as we could. The Incredible Hulk was deputized as Field commander, he was of course our most powerful hero left, but even his efforts were nearly in vain when up against the entire Skrull Empire. Eventually, Banner struck a truce with the Skrulls--safe haven in Africa. We had given up.

Certain Heroes had not. Fury was still out there trying to assemble a new team of Avengers using his full 33 op base knowledge as striking points. The X-Men were also around, now led by Mr. Sinister and Magneto. Other heroes are whispered as ghosts. Spider-Man. The New Daredevil. War Machine.

All of their efforts have been in vain thus far as the Skrull Empire continues its dominace over a conquered human race.

But I have a plan.

The Skrull empire has covered the entire globe.

Safe Haven for humans is in Africa.

Latveria has been reduced to a shell of its former grandeur. It was given its own tract of land in Africa over which the Hulk has no authority.

The Skrulls are lead by The Skrull Empress, however her location is unknown.

The Skrull cities are either new, or past human cities that have been taken over.

Otherwise, the world functions relatively normally, but remebers the Skrulls are a militaristic empire, and as such, the leaders live in riches, the people live in poverty.

Then again, in this day and age, everyone knows exactly who they can rely on: Themselves.

Whether you're a Skrull or not, I guess that's the one constant, isn't it?

You can always trust yourself.

Lately, though, I'm not so sure. I feel pangs of regret. A shadowy desire to give up.

The Skrull empire has grown so powerful that they were able to drive off the Hulk. They made him submit.

It was then that I realized how the quickly the world is changing. The Hulk I knew, or at least thought I knew, is long dead. No longer does his rage fuel him. It is, instead, his fear. Spider-Man, too, has perished. Heroes, we were. We put our masks on, fighting valiantly for everything we believed in. Spider-Man even gave up that which he held so closely: his true name.

Captain America was lost because he too gave up that which he most valued: his freedom.

We only have one choice, now, though. We, the heroes of earth, living in Africa, must band together.

We're in hell right now. And, either we can stay here, and get the **** kicked out of us. Or, we can climb back to the light; the light of the once epic and true people we were. When you've got nothing left to lose, you find out that life is a game. A game that everyone loses at some point, but one that only ends once you stop playing... when you throw in the towel.

Me? I'll never throw in the towel.

I know there are more like me; watching, waiting. We wait for a sign. A sign that will let us know that it's time to put our masks back on, and fight for what we believe in.

A sign that signals the fall of the Skrull Empress and her empire.

After all, in this game of life, she still has a loss coming to her.

And I plan on ensuring that she gets it.
