...no, it's not people ala Soylent Green, but it is really tap water. According to the following article:

Aquafina labels to tell water’s source — the tap

Pepsi agrees to change as industry comes under increased criticism

NEW YORK - So you thought that water in your Aquafina bottle came from some far-away spring bubbling deep in a glen?

Try the tap.

PepsiCo Inc. is the latest company to offer some clarity about the source of its top-selling bottled water as it announced on Friday it would change the label on Aquafina water bottles to spell out that the drink comes from the same source as tap water.

A group called Corporate Accountability International has been pressuring bottled water sellers to curb what it calls misleading marketing practices. The group has criticized PepsiCo over its blue Aquafina label with a mountain logo as perpetuating the misconception that the water comes from spring sources.

Aquafina is the single biggest bottled water brand, and its bottles are now labeled “P.W.S.” The new labels will spell out “public water source.”
“If this helps clarify the fact that the water originates from public sources, then it’s a reasonable thing to do,” PepsiCo spokeswoman Michelle Naughton said Friday. Aquafina water is taken from public sources then purified in a seven-step process.

Most bottle water is filter tap water...I thought most people knew that.

Dasani > Aquafina, because Dasani looks cooler. :o

Lots of bottled water is just filtered tap water, that's why it's such a waste. Buy a filter and slap it on your faucet.

I love peckam spring water, certainly has an interesting taste.

The one bottled water I enjoy drinking is Mountain Valley Spring from Hot Springs Arkansas.

It's the only good thing from that state

Yeah, many think that when the label says "purified water" that they are getting spring water......when its not much better than what comes out of their tap, with a purifier attached, or pouring water into one of the pruifing filter canisters.

Dasani is tap water, too. Unless the bottled water your drinking says it's from a natural spring and names the source, it's most likely tap water (and even then, there's the chance it still is). BadgerPhil is right; get a filter and put it on your faucet.

Yes, both Dasani and Aqua Fina are purified water, not spring or from an aquifer etc....

Me knows, but Dasani just has a cool bottle and logo, compared to Aquafina, which looks boring.

What this tells me, ****ehammer, is that if I wrap my poop up in an enticing, pretty package the odds are I can get you to buy it from me.

So Jag, Crystal Gyser claims that their water is from a mountain source and has a little diagram and everything on the bottle from where they "supossedly" get their water.

Or is it just tap?

Still tastes good.
But I have been thinking about putting a filter on. [/lazy]

Crystal Gyser is natural spring water......it will say if its purified water or not on the label.

A good water filter on your faucet will cost you around fifteen bucks. I recommend getting one.

Wow. I love when people point out the obvious. Like all the idiots that try to tell me what bologna is.:whatever:

Please leave educating to the educated please. Kay. Thanks.

aquafina is definitely the worst tasting bottled water on the market. i don't get how it's the top selling one. it tastes like plastic. i buy fiji, smart water and poland spring, but i just keep refilling the bottle with filtered water.

You people buy bottled water? I'm ashamed of you all...

If you're too much of a prude to drink "unclean" tap water, or if the water where you live isn't exactly healthy, buy one of these. The amount of pollution required to ship a bottle of tap water across the continent, as well as the money you are throwing away by buying this "pure" water, can easily be fixed.
