Arad in brand new interview discusses X4 and bringing dead characters back

I can't believe they would let Storm's tidal wave just go to waste like that. I think we'll be seeing more footage than we think on the DVD.

I know right?! They must have spent a fair amout of $$$ on that, I really can't understand why they cut it! Unfinished FX? I do hope that scene, IF ANY, will be on the DVD.

I'm thinking that they shot half of it, ran out of money and time, and decided to leave it out or something...I dunno...I'm confident that it was done for a good reason. We just don't know for sure what that reason was..

Extended cut in about a year or so. This interview is real right:o

It's just that they don't have enough footage for extending every scene... most of the scenes are alternate scenes... even if they put em in on the DVD... they will just be called deleted scenes and will never be incorprated in the film... I haven't seen the Xmen 1 extended cut yet and I don't know how that went but maybe there might be an extended cut... I just don't think they have the footage enough of that

Sorry, if I'm out of the loop...But what tidal wave shot?

Storm used a mini tidal-wave to wash back attacking mutants in a final battle clip for a TV spot but it wasn't in the final film.

I dunno, we pretty much saw most/all of it in the trailer. The water comes up and then Storm blows it towards the mutants, we even saw the water gushing over mutants in the background in the trailer, as Wolverine was slashing mutants - I'd be happy if they added back in the footage from the trailer to the movie tbh. I'm thinking MAYBE there were unfinished FX though, some more water FX/wind FX. I doubt they ran out of money and the fact that they were showing it in the trailer meant they were probably pretty happy with it and had it filmed in time. I'm genuinely confused!

Is there a link to the clip?

Someone speculated that they'll put out this extended version and then do a Director's cut (wow, wonder where they got that idea.... LUCAS). I believe that will be the version with the Tidal wave and some of these other scenes we are panting for.

Ratners short attention spam duh !!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can anyone be bored by a giant tidal wave?..

Oh yeah...Poseidon.... :p

ARAD: You heard what was said in the classroom right? How things were explained to the students, what’s possible. When you look at the way these people materialize when the Phoenix erupts, just reverse it and who knows?

Anything is possible, but IMHO Arad is just talking out of his @ss here. He'll cook up any idea to bring in the cash. Even if we get an x4 with returning 'dead' characters, I don't expect it to be anything but blatantly contrived.

I also wouldn't trust him about deleted scenes, etc. I'm more inclined to go with what Ratner says - he may me out of the loop in terms of production decisions, but I think he's more honest that Arad.

lol... yeah, what kind of response was that? Because he has ADD and a short attention span, that means characters development and we the fans have to suffer.. Dont get me wrong, I loved X3,(which i think it still should have had in the main title), I thought it was an awesome movie...but it could have been even greater with say 5 minutes extra for each character...

Thanks Storm, I remember that... they seemed to show plenty of footage/scenes/pictures/dialogue in the trailers and other mediums of media that were eventually left out of the theatrical release... *sob**sniffle**sniffle*

That's what's annoying, this shot was heavily featured in the trailers and spots, they were showing it off as a great FX shot and then it doesn't even appear in the movie!

Yeah...I was wondering what happened to so many of the mutants....It seems like they disappeared a little bit...

I'm guessing that the tidal wave happens before Storm fought Callisto..

Think so yeah, you can even see wind swirling around Storm when she gets jumped by Callisto, looks like she was creating a tornado to suck the water up and blow it at the mutants. It has to be on the DVD!

SIde note.... was there any other footage of collosus vs Juggs before?

its not a "new" interview
arad just resigned dont expect an extended edition just because of this interview

Arad still works "FOR" Marvel but as a outside producer. Arad always had Avi Arad Productions and Avi always produced Marvel films. Nothing has changed except he's an outside producer.

Since the movie has done extremely well at the box office, I assume they will spend quite a bit of time and money on the DVD. I know nearly everyone here thinks Fox and Arad are corporate ****es but they owe it to the fans (who paid to see the movie more then once, adding more money to their pockets) to produce a decent DVD with extras, lots and lots of extras:up: . If they don’t, so help me god:mad: ! Um...well, to tell you the truth, I got nothing. I could go to their head office and throw bread rolls at them, but I don’t think that would end entirely well.:D

ummm.....did he just say that what the Phoenix did to people ( dematerialize them )......could be reversed!????

Is that saying characters like Cyclops, Psylocke, even Quill, Arclight, who were killed by Phoenix......come back to life?

Well think of it this way, Jean had to concentrate to demolecularize those people, and keep them demolecularized. If she is dead, she won't be able to keep the molecules seperated and they could reform. Huzzah for Cyke possibly returning!

Let's pray man... early indications looks like there won't be an extension any time soon...

Extended cut will make my day.
Unfortunately, it possibly might be a hoax.
