In the movie verse, are beings from other realms considered to be aliens? Aren't the Frost Giants from another planet? What is the defenition of a realm anyway?

Realms use portals which are just gateways for faster travel if you think about it. Portals or not, they are still coming from a whole different planet right?

If a being is from a different world like a different planet then their aliens!

The definition of Alien is pretty much belonging or relating to another person, place, or thing.....so you know.....Thor should work on getting a green card. :o

Helping save the earth in The Avengers is his green card, besides I'd like to see someone try and make him get one (lol).

The usual definition of alien is anything not of Earth. So, they would qualify.

Though George Lucas would insist they are not aliens, but "extra-dimensional beings".

Yeah, extra-dimensional beings are a more exotic breed of ''aliens''.

It's the cousin of "extraterrestrial being". Aliens have had a few names over the years. ET, ALF (Alien Life Form), spacemen, saucermen (in the fifties) and EBE. But alien is the one that sticks. Or you can always be poetic and go with "otherworldly".

Either way, They took R Jeeeerbs! :argh:

"Otherworldly" and "extra-dimensional being" are my two favorite terms for describing beings from the other realms.

When I hear aliens I have to think of this

It's the Thor from the TV Show Stargate SG-1:woot:

So I prefer "extra-dimensional being", sounds godly.

Exactly, the term "other worldly" is another cool term for the Asgardians.

All I know is that, to us, they're Gods.:D
Comics they are gods, but in the movie universe where people like to keep it more realistic or in other words more science than mystical, Thor is really an alien.

They're basically the same thing in the comics, the term "god" is just a title they've been described as aliens and extra-dimensional beings in the comics for years.

Actually, I believe they actually are Gods in the MU. Apparently every planet has these Godstuffs or whatever, that forms over time. Corpy explains it best.

Planetary Antibodies fits more I guess.

Yeah they use the term "God" more but if you think about it they're not really any different than their movie counterparts.

Agreed. Also, now, with the character( and his universe) already established in Thor and Avengers, they'll probably explore more the mystical /supernatural side of the characters.

Hopefully so, I want to Thor II to delve more into the fantasy side and showcase characters using more of their magical abilities.

Definately, with Executioner coming on along to provide a physical adversary for Thor.

Yeah, I'd love to see Skurge portrayed like in Avengers:EMH. He's a true powerhouse there.

Yep, too bad we got robbed of a one on one fight between him and Thor.

Yes

And I would like to see Thor 2 go to another realm!

I think they are technically "interdimensional humanoids"
