Are "fanboys" too dangerous?

This is what I don't get. People just look at the subject of it. I'm talking about being a fan in general. So what if I've seen TDK five times or watched all Indiana Jones films in one day? Sports fans can buy season tickets and go to every game on Sunday for 18 weeks. And they watch football all day. 3 hour games with alot of them every Sunday. It doesn't matter what you like, you're still being a fan. Though they're two different subjects, in general, we're the same in terms of being a fan. But of course, most people can't see that.

Have you seen the 1984 classic Revenge of the Nerds? That will explain it all to you.

You hit it right there, Audobon society don't care what the haters think, there all-"hey look, tha stork!"

Such is life man, I hear you

No fanboys are not dangerous. If you disagree I will hunt you down through your IP address and skin you alive!!!!

I don't think fanboys are dangerous, because they can help keep a movie true to its source.

However, having said that, they can also run interference, because they want the movie too true to its source, making the movie a less enjoyable experience to watch.

Yea there is still people going on about Joker not being "permawhite" or having long hair or having scars. Give it a rest!!!!

this subject remindes me of a smallville episode. The one where there fliming the warrier angel movie, and the fan boy gets so up set by the Hollywood ending that, he trys to kill the actress and then Lana to push clark to being superman.
I think that if the writes of smallville thought that a fanboy who could be messed up like that was a big enough threat for Clark Kent, and lets face it there are crazy people on the net. Then they must have some degree of power. yes I know that was exaggerate and most fanboys wouldn't carry it that far. I stated before examples of how they have power but how much power they have is the real question here. while I list examples of fans haveing power I think it is more from letters by hundreds of fans sent to the companys than by any fanboys on the net, I doubt that is taken seriously.
