Are Spider-Man Writers Lazy?

You ever noticed all their villains are basically a repeat of the last villain?

Green Goblin, then HobGoblin, then Green Goblin II, and then Demo Goblin....

Venom and then Carnage.....

Sandman, and then Hydro Man.......

Why did they keep doing that?
 
I would hardly call them lazy. Establishing one of the most well-known rogues galleries in all of comics isn't exactly easy.
 
I'd go with what Eddie Brock Jr. here, They were not being lazy, they were just using a winning formula to produce better villains.

That`s right,any Spider-Man reader would tell you that the villains had great origins and were written well.But now..
 
All I can say is once I'm writing Spider-man I'll be introducing the Cooolest Goblin of them all.
