Exactly. Cable is dead. He raised her from infancy. Does anyone notice the blood is on Hope, not Emma, and Hope is attached to Cable at the hip. Cable is old, his character is beyond unnecessary since Time Travel is no longer in vogue, and Jean (his "mother") is long dead. Cyclops has a new girlfriend, and so Cable as the child of the future makes no sense since in the ScEmma world Cable is completely impossible.
at this rate, Cable is of no use for him as he's burnt most of his powers out. He can barely manage a telekinetic nudge. His old and most likely on his way out. Marvel wasted time by not exploring him and Sinister more when he was in his prime
they'll probably rectify it with the fact that she's a rogue Phoenix fragment gone bad. Dark Phoenix destroyed a distant planet before; now she threatens to destroy earth. It'll be for the greater good and it woudnt be killing so much as fixxing whats right by reconnecting her with the rest of the Phoenix fragments, which has been Jean's mission since her resurrection in Endsong. OR they could leave Hope depowered at the end of this all as well but that probably wont be as powerful a story
We'll see how the story goes, but it's just gonna feel weird to ''root" for Jean to absorb a young girl we've been following for the last few months.
