Jean is not the only person to hold the Phoenix, so that means nothing. And like Manic said, they wouldn't give it away that easily, plus, they're have been so many beaten-over-the-head hints she could be Jean, it kills any surprise that it would be her and be one of the biggest let-downs for such a big build she's had since Messiah Complex.

I hear that, I was just remarking that Hope would seem like Jean to anyone who didn't know any better, and the comparisons are getting more and more obvious, especially now. I don't really think it's Jean either, but I don't think it would necessarily be that much of a let down if she was, it just depends on how they do it and what actually happens.

If Jean and Hope are two different persons then it means one of them will die (definitely Hope), there's no need for two red-haired, green-eyed Telepaths with TK.

Rachel has blood privilege immunity, Hope doesn't.

Me likes. I've been thinking about this whole Hope is Jean is Hope thing, and my mind keeps going back to the Messiah CompleX storyline, where Hope wipes Rogue clean, which is something I don't believe Jean (even reincarnated) would be capable of.

My only optimistic conclusion is either that Hope is not Jean but the Phoenix itself - given itself human form based on Jean's features and powerset. I dunno, it's a long shot, but this would be more interesting to me.

Remember when Rogue was infected with that... whatever... that made her instantly kill people with a single touch? Toward the end of Messiah CompleX, Mystique held the baby up against Rogue's face, and the baby somehow cured Rogue of her infection.

Mystique pushed Hope on Rogue and that cured her of Strain 88, that virus that gave her an insta-death touch as well as the psychic remnants of the people she touched over the years

4) Any clue what Hope's powers are? I'm guessing probably telekinesis and telepathy like Stryfe assumed, but that doesn't really explain how she healed Rogue in "Messiah CompleX" – unless a certain fiery bird is involved. Am I getting warm?

You saw a glimmer of Hope's power in "Cable" #21. She stopped a bullet cold. She dished back what Bishop served. But is that telekinesis…or something else entirely?

I dont see why Jean would need an heir to it. Other people can be a host to the Phoenix but only Jean was able to become White Phoenix of the Crown. Thats the Phoenix at its purest and representation of Jean as its perfect host. She achieves that status in death as she resides within the White Hot Room which exists outside of time and space. I firmly beleive that Hope will be a Phoenix fragment, but I dont see her donning a white Phoenix costume anytime soon

The Phoenix already resurrected her in Endsong. She's been off collecting the missing Phoenix fragments and I presume she will come to collect Hope
