I'm so glad this story seems to be picking up more and more steam. I live in Arizona and it pisses me off that this woman is in power right now and is smearing the entire state to get re-elected.

Brewer and Pro-SB1070 supporters have been flat out LYING about the amount of violence in the state and blaming it on illegal immigrants. I mentioned before in the immigration thread that violent crime is down throughout Arizona but Brewer and supporters are trying to make it seem like AZ is the most dangerous place in America. Between the lies and SB1070 she's done a tremendous amount of damage to the image of this state and thus hurt tourism. Sadly I see her getting re-elected simply because this is very much a red state and the Xenophobes are going to come out in force and vote for her.

What I don't get is why it's taken SOOOO long for these things to be exposed as lies? Brewer and others have been spreading this garbage for awhile now and few people have called them on it.

The way they go on you'd think Arizona was the most dangerous state in the Union. Instead of making up lies about the crime in our state she should be doing MUCH more about the piss poor education system here (ranked 45th).
