Arnold Is Back for Terminator 5

Ya I think your thinking of T2: Infiltrator, there was a trilogy. Actually they were pretty good books. T3, TS, and the Sarah Connor Chronicles actually took a lot of the good ideas from those books, I think the mid 90's were their release. But in a lot of ways I liked them much more than the past two films. Some day maybe I'll go back and read them.

As I said before..I don't care about Arnold's age and want him to have a big role in T5..But just not as a terminator!

I support his return to action films But for future Terminator films I really want him as a general or scientist only than a T-800 again,He can get some action as a fighting scientist or especially a resistance general and it'd help the story&the franchise by showing the man who was the template for the T-800's

They can explain that Skynet used a young version of this man as the template and that this scientist or general was very important and so Skynet using this man's younger image is a big deal for some reason

JGL.

He'd make a great older Connor and he could've played a great young John in T2.

I agree, a part of me thinks JGL is thrown around everywhere...but he could be good.

I too just want a reboot, I never thought I would say that, but they are going to continue to make Terminator movies, there is no question about that. There really is no stopping it either. So to me the options on the table are sequel continuing in the universe, a loose sequel (which I would prefer more) or a flat out reboot (which would be my first choice).

I have some hope with Megan Ellison behind this, but I'm still....worried. I just think to start over would be the best option. But I guess we will have to see where this goes.

A reboot I would like would be a Star Trek-style reboot, just make it a alternate universe/reality/timeline and maybe involve a original character/actor. Or just continue the series...I wouldn't mind two more main movies before a redo.

I saw the hardcover of each of those books for $5 each the other day and thought about picking them up but I've never heard of them previously.

they are good I have all 3 the 3rd book is the future war from after the bombs fall to the resistance sending back Kyle and the Terminator. And there is an Austrian character that worked for the government who Sarah first mistakes him for a Terminator model 101.

I personally thought Salvation should be viewed as sequel to Terminator and Terminator 2 only. The biggest mistake made for salvation was It should have focused on John.

The post Salvation plans were just messup.Ok It would have been nice for Robert patrick to return but that wasway out there.Salvation sequels should be about future
war not more time travel.

I hate Idea of reboot.More reboot crazyness.Do people realize reboot means nothing
In series would then have happened including the first 2 films.I would crap all over that as much as I would disney rebooting Star Wars.

Having said that It's best they move on without Arnold.DO something different. That's way I support contuning doing future war for sequels.I enjoyed the Sarah Connor chronicles and I don't think Arnold Is neccsary for franchise.

I wish T5 would just be a sci-fi movie set in the universe/future from T1,Have references to John Connor&Kyle Reese with maybe a cameo But all new characters&cast and just be resistance soldiers in the battle zones against Skynet machines .

I think this is what Salvation should have been!

No....reboots do mean something. Espeically if they are well made, and sometimes loved as much or more then whatever it is rebooting. It can bring renewed interest in series, and go back to the roots. Of course it all depends on quality. But Bond and Batman are two examples of reboots (CR was sort of one) gone right. And many were against both I remember that.

To me the universe became so diluted it would just be a better way. It will never take away what T1 and T2 were, but an alternate take on the series, it does not erase anything before it.

Eh and the Sarah Connor Chronicles....I hated that show.

Yes reboots do erase everything.J.j. Abrams turned Star Trek Into Star Wars clone.

Rebooting batman was waste of time now that It's going to be rebooted again.

I still disagree to day that Casino royale was unnecsarry.Youd idn't have to reboot bond.If yo could do for yur eyes only after Moonraker and keep the loose contunity and Roger moore as bond. You could do a more down to earth bond film after Die Another Day In loose contunity.Bond producers want to have It both ways.Reboot yet call them Bond 21,22,23,and next film 24.When rebooting you say bond 1-20 never happened. And keeping Judi Dench as m for 3 films was stupid.

A reboot would not bring terminator back to roots.Reboots turn It Into something else.I hate the teasers for man of steel.Just as I hated the reimaging of Battlestar galactica.
Or as I call It galactica In name only.Man of steel Is looking too dark knight influenced.Who knows what radical thing they would do for terminator.

Well, that was a whole load of nonsense I just read. :o

Wow, I agree with Sawyer, I don't agree with a thing you just said.

I don't really know, I just don't see him as C. Bale. I guess Bale is just to cold to me, it's a messed of future so ofcourse Connor is going to be cold to a certain degree but the way everyone talks about Connor I always saw him as being less angry than Bale's Connor and a little more inspirational. They tried but I barely got inspirational from Bale's Connor. He just seemed like angry action guy with 50 percent Batman voice.

I agree. That's what I meant when I said clean shaven paragon. A guy who's more of an inspirational leader in addition to being a military guy.

The sad thing is Bale owned it as a mixture of both in Rescue Dawn.

What a terrible way of looking at things. Well, back to looking forward to this. I haven't been keeping up with news, but is there any indication of how they will incorporate Arnold?

Why can't we have a movie that does both? Have future bits, and in the past.

Like say, start in the future. Epic robot war. Time machine. Opening titles, present day.

Jeez...Talk about speaking in absolutes! This is one of the most cynical and Debbie Downer things I've ever read here.

It's as if Eeyore the Donkey wrote that.

I like reboots. Not all of them, no. But there are definitely some good ones out there. And they're a hell lot better than the third or fourth sequel... of well, virtually any franchise.

I don't know what a Terminator reboot would be like. But after Terminator 3, the franchise can only get better.
